Size: 48 (The whole class is divided into groups with 4-5 members in each according to their seats.)
Materials: “Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained” of Unit 1, Senior English for Schools Student’s Book 10 Type of lesson: Grammar
Aids: PPT, K7(exhibition platform),students’ tablet computer, marker, whiteboard
4.2 Contents
(1) Sentence structures of attributive clause

4.3 Objectives
4.3.1 Instructional objectives
By the end of the class, students should be able to:

in Avengers Four.
2) Learn the usage and of relative pronouns– which, that, who, whose and
distinguish them in attributive clause by knowing about the plot of the movie. 3) Understand the meaning of complex sentences with attributive clauses in the
movie ending and write a short letter to Pepper for Iron Man by using attributive clause.
4) Cherish the peaceful life that they have now and be grateful to the “heroes” in
reality.

Activity 1. Show some pictures of the characters in the movie AVENGERS FOUR and describe the characters by using attributive clauses.
(The teacher expects students to produce adjectives or other kind of attributes to describe the following pictures.)

Activity 4. Single work: Apply the rules: Complete the following blanks with who/that/whose/which to know about the ending of the movie.

After that, Iron Man uses the Stones to turn Thanos and his army into dust, successfully stating “I am Iron Man.” His wife comfort him griefly, as Iron Man, ______ arc-reactor(钢铁侠佩戴的心脏反应堆) finally goes out, dies from overexposure(过度曝光) to the Stones with only one word: ” Pepper”. 4.6.4 Stage 4 Practice
(in this stage, the teacher show ss a short video which is about the above short passage and also about the end of the movie. At the end of the video, the main character, Iron Man, died without any other words for his wife but only one word, so the teacher guide the ss to discuss and write a short letter for Iron Man to his wife.) Activity 5. Group work: Suppose you are Iron Man, what would you say to her? Please write a short letter to Pepper by using at least 3 attributive clauses, and later choose a speaker to share the letter with classmates.
