一、Teaching material analysis(教学内容分析)
This teaching period mainly tell three stories about three famous people
with great determination ,who are Robert the Bruce----the first Scottish king; Helen Keller;
the King of Yue,Gou Jian.According to these three stories,part warming up aims at emphasizeing the importance of great determination and arousing the students’s interest in following reading. 二、Students analysis(学生分析) Ss:Senior high school students, Grade 2.
Students are likely to love reading stories ,so they will be fond of these stories quickly,especially the persons of which are familiar to them .At the same time ,they have had a basic reading skill,so they are able to get the main idea of the stories and anwser the questions. What’s more, they will learn the great determination from the three famous people. 三、teaching aims.(教学目标)
Knowledge aims (知识目标)
1.After reading warming up,students can get the main idea and answer the six questions
2.Find out and recite the important phrases;
Ability aims (技能目标) 1.Fill in the blanks not looking at the books; 2.Write a short story about a famous people . Emotional aims (情感目标)
Get students to know the importance of great determination,and encourage students keep on working hard in order to achieve their dreams.
四、 teaching importance and difficulties.(教学重难点) Important points (教学重点) Let students translate these three stories and list the useful phrases.

Enable students to write an article on a person with great determination.
五、Teaching Methods(教学方法)
1. Discussion method to make the Ss understand what they've learnt in the class. 2.Coorperative teaching method to get every student to take part in the teaching and learning activities.
3.Communicative approach,task-based teaching method and situational teaching method.
