预习案Previewing Case
     The use of –ing form表示主动的或进行的动作或伴随状态,在句子中可以充当Attribute (定语)Object Complement(宾语补足语)Subject (主语) Predicative(表语)Object(宾语),和Adverbial(状语)
分析下列句子中-ing形式所做成分。
1.Walking is good for everyone.  (             )
2. Our job is playing all kinds of music. (             )
3. We shall appreciate hearing from you again. (             )
4. Do you know the boy lying under the tree?  (             )
5. People come to theme parks, looking for excitement.  (             )
6. On the hill, he saw smoke rising from the chimneys. (             )

探究一 动词–ing形式作主语
e.g. Traveling makes me relax. So traveling all over the world is my dream.
 
Task 1: Write down your hobbies and dreams by using the following sentence patterns.
          Doing…makes/gives/brings me/is… 
          So doing… is my hobby/my dream
My hobby or dream:______________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
总结一:动词–ing形式直接作主语时表示抽象概念,谓语动词用单数形式。
 
探究二 动词–ing形式作宾语
Task 2: A guessing game: Work in groups, and use at least three sentences with V-ing to describe one of your classmates. The students in other groups will guess who he/she is.
 
For example:  be good at doing sth.     be interested in doing     dream of doing sth.  
look forward to doing.    devote…to doing sth.   care (little/ more) about doing

总结二:常跟动词ing作宾语的动词歌诀:
考虑建议盼原谅 (consider, suggest / advise, look forward to, excuse, pardon) ,
承认推迟没得想(admit, delay / put off, fancy),
避免错过继续练(avoid, miss, keep /keep on, practice),
否认完成停能赏(deny, finish, stop, enjoy / appreciate),
不禁介意准逃亡(can’t help, mind, allow/ permit, escape),
不准冒险凭想象(forbid, risk, imagine)。
探究三 -ing形式作定语
     Finish the following exercises, and discuss with your partners if having some difficulties.
1. building materials = materials for building 建筑材料drinking water = water for drinking 饮用水
a walking stick = a stick for walking 手杖   a writing desk = a desk for writing 写字台   
总结三:动词-ing 形式作定语,放在所修饰词的前面,说明被修饰词的特征用途动作。   
 
[翻译]  阅览室____________________      游泳池_____________________________
      烦人的音乐_________________      惊人的消息_________________________
 
2. (1)The man running over there is our chairman.
     = The man who is running over there is our chairman.
   (2)They lived in a room facing the street.
     = They lived in a room which faces the street.
总结四:动词-ing形式作定语,放在所修饰的名词之后,表示主动或进行,在意思上相当于
        一个定语从句。
 
[译](1) 教室里全是正在为考试作准备的学生。
The classroom is full of students ______________________________________________
(2) 正在会上发表演讲的那个人是我的老师。
The man ___________________________________________________ is my teacher.

Task 3: Watch a short video and complete the passage about Oddis
