看图记叙文写作—教学设计
Learning Objectives:
By learning this lesson, students can 1. read and understand the pictures;
2. find the key words and phrases involved in the picture; 3. use the key words and phrases to make sentences; 4. manage the skill of narrative writing; 5. cooperate with other students.
Teaching key points and difficult points:
1. To experience the process of writing: planning—drafting—editing – final version (especially planning)
2. Students are required to spend time on pre-writing phases, drafting, editing, and finally produce a finished version of their work.
3. Students are encouraged to work in groups so that they would come up with more ideas through discussion and research, revise their writing by peer check or peer evaluation.
Teaching method:
1. The students are expected to practice the writing skills through a range of activities (word bank, discussion, cooperating writing…)
2. The students are required to complete a work sheet which would leave them the product they have produced in this class.
Teaching Procedure:
Step1. Warming-up (3 minutes) Questions:
1. Do you like going to park? 2. What will you do in the park?
Purpose: To activate student’s background knowledge and arouse their interest in this topic.
Step2. Leading-in (2 minutes)
Last Sunday, Li Hua and his friend went to the park, but something happened… Purpose: To arouse students’ curiosity towards what happened next.
Step3. Put pictures in order (5 minutes)
Give students 4 pictures. Ask them to watch and put them in the right order.
Purpose: Through this step, students can make out the basic plot of this story. At the same time, they can well understand the time, the place, the people, and the event, which are the basic elements of the narrative writing.
Step4. Word Bank (8 minutes)
Group work
Four students are in a group. Each student is responsible for one picture. Write down the key words and phrases. Share and accumulate to make the word bank. Picture1 ༝ Park

Purpose: Through this way, students can accumulate a lot of words and phrases to be used in the later writing. At the same time, word bank can encourage students’ to compete and cooperate.
Step5. Writing time (12 minutes)
All students are divided into 4 large groups. Each group writes one picture. Group 4 writes picture 1; Group 1-picture2; Group2-picture3; Group3-picture4. Then, share to make a whole passage.
Step6. Show time (5 minutes)
Students share their writing with each other. Students evaluate their own writing.
Step7. Editing (5 minutes)
Ask students to edit their own writing.
Homework
Ask students to finish their writing and share with their partners.
