1. 文本分析:
本单元的话题为歌颂坚韧不拔的顽强精神,本课为该单元的第一节阅读课,是一篇日记体文章,作者以第一人称的方式生动地描写了亲身经历的南极探险故事。1914年以沙克尔顿伯爵为首的28名勇士搭乘“持久号”前往南极探险,这次探险被称为一次“成功的失败”。说失败,是因为他们还没到达目的地,船就沉了,没有完成任务;说成功,是因为全船的人意志坚强,团结一致,克服了重重困难,最终奇迹般全部生还。基于此,设计本节课的阅读任务:1)通过梳理故事情节学习日记倒叙的记叙方式,帮助了解南极探险途中的各种险境,感受此
次探险的艰难;2)通过分析人物的情感态度的变化,体会在船长沙克尔顿的带领和影响下,全体船员不怕困难,勇往直前,团结协作以及积极乐观的优秀品质,从而深刻理解“成功的失败”的真正含义。
通过本节课的学习,希望一方面教会学生分析日记的语篇结构和语言特点,另一方面鼓励其在面对困难时敢于尝试,持之以恒并保持积极乐观的态度,启发学生对成功与失败的思考。 2. 难度分析:
1)南极探险的话题离学生的实际生活比较遥远,向让学生在情感上产生强烈的共鸣,并把所学所感迁移到自己的日常生活,有一定难度。
2)本文的篇幅较长,话题词汇中生词较多,对学生阅读和理解会产生一定干扰。 教学目标
1. 语言知识:
1) 学习有关南极探险的表达,巩固描述人物情感、性格和品质的相关表达; 2)进一步学习日记体文章的语篇结构特征及语言特点,理解故事内容及人物感受; 3)通过语篇特征推断语篇内容,识别文中的时间顺序,并根据上下文推断人物性格。 2. 文化意识:
从对文章的主题的分析和思考中获得积极的人生态度和价值观念启示。
3. 思维品质:
1) 通过比较分析、归纳总结的手段,提升学生思维的逻辑性;
2)通过对比分析将语篇内容与自身经历联系起来,培养思维的批判性。 4. 学习能力:
1)在语境中学习词汇;
2)根据篇章标题、图片和关键词,预测和理解篇章的主要内容; 3)通过快速浏览理解篇章各部分的大意;通过扫读获取篇章具体信息;

Step 1: Warming-up
1) Talk about success and failure in the school sports
meeting, and ask students to think whether it’s possible to have success and failure at the same time.
Arouse students’ interest and get ready for the class.
Step 2: Pre-reading
1) Ask students to watch a video to find out why the event is considered “a successful failure”;
2) Predict the difficulties people might encounter when
going on the expedition to Antarctica.

Step 3:
While-reading 1) Scan for quick facts concerning who, when and what; 2) Discuss the genre and its feature;
3) Assign the tasks: find out the difficulties and understand the title;

5) Read for details: Draw a storyline, find out the difficulties and check the predictions;

3) End the lesson by quoting Shackleton’s words related to
“a true failure”.
