Unit 6 Do you like bananas?(Section B 2a~3b)
1.Teaching aims:
1).Language aims: learn the key words and new sentence structures in this reading. 2).Ability aims:
Help students to improve their reading ability through skimming and scanning. Be able to talk about one’s eating habits. 3).Emotional aims:
Keep healthy!Eat healthy food and health is the most precious wealth of life.
2.Analysis of students:
Most of our students in grade 7 have just started learning English, they have great interest; they learned Do…? in the last unit and they generally know about pl. forms of nouns; However, they have limited vocabulary and sentence structures, thus spoken English may be a difficulty for them.
3.Key points and difficult points: 1). Key points:
New words: healthy, eat,well, habit,question,want, fat… Sentence patterns: I like…for breakfast/ I don’t like…
He/She likes….He/She doesn’t …
How to talk about one’s eating habits, likes and dislikes. 2). Difficult points: Improve reading ability. Write about one’s eating habits.
4.Teaching process: Step 1 Warming-up
Greet each other, watch a video. Then ask them “What fruit do you like …?”
This video to cheer students up. Step2 Lead--in
1. The teacher talks her own eating habits"For me, I like ....". At the same time, learn new words: healthy, habit, fat, want...
2. Then ask one student like that, “What do you like for breakfast/lunch/dinner? Do you like …for…?” Then ask another student, “What does he/she like for dinner?
