Unit 7 How much are these socks?
Period 1 (SectionA 1a-2d)
一、教学目标: 1. 语言知识目标:
1) 能掌下列词汇:socks, T-shirt, shorts, sweater, trousers, shoe, skirt, dollar, big, small, short, long, woman, need, look, pair, take
2) 能掌握以下句型:
① —How much is this T-shirt? —It's seven dollars. ② —How much are these socks? —They're two dollars. ③ —Can I help you?
—Yes, please.
2. 能力目标:
能掌握在购物时的一些常用语言,并在真实或模拟的语境下,运用所学的语言进行交际。
3. 情感态度价值观目标:
通过学生感兴趣的服饰话题,来学习询问价格。通过父亲节的来临,给父亲买礼物来学会感恩。 二、教学重难点 1. 教学重点:
1) 通过听、说、读的教学活动,让学生掌握表示衣服的英语名称以及描述衣服的形容词。 2) 通过对话表演让学生在较为真实的的语境下,运用所学的语言进行购物的交际。 2. 教学难点:
1)掌握一些衣服的名称。
2)通过对话表演让学生在较为真实的的语境下,运用所学的语言进行购物的交际。 三、教学过程
Step1 Greetings and lead-in 1)Free talks.
T: It's a nice day, isn't it? S: Yes.
T: What do you want to do after class?
S: ......
T: I think I'll buy some clothes in Jenny's clothes store. Do you want to go with me? S: Yes. T: OK. Let's go! 2) Lead-in
This is Jenny's store. What kinds of clothes are there in it? (Show the pictures of clothes on the screen, and help students get them. Repeat them for three times.)
In this store, these clothes are in Top 10. Look at the screen and try to remember the and let's see who has the best memory. (Play the video two times, and ask students to put these word cards in correct order.)
Purpose: to help students be familiar with the new words by competing. Step 2 Presentation. Warming up 1) ---What's that? ---It's a hat? ---What color is it? ---It's red and white.
First, help students to talk about one picture. Then show some other pictures about clothes on the screen, and ask students to make conversations group by group.
Purpose: to review the sentence patterns learned in the past, and the words about colors will help us to learn what we are going to learn.
2) Present a picture of a pink clothes, and ask students, T: What is this?
S: It's a skirt. (A pink skirt.)
T: How much is the pink skirt? (Show the price $5 with a sentence It's....) S: It's 5 dollars.
Ask students about the prices of other clothes one by one with the sentence pattern: How much is the... It's...
Then show a picture of trousers, and ask,
"How much are the black trousers?"
Help students to answer with sentence pattern : They are... Then practice the sentence patterns with other plural words in pairs.
Purpose: to learn the sentence patterns to talk about price. Also, to consolidate the words learned just now.
3) 2b Listen to the conversations and circle the things you hear. Then check together. (Ask students to check the answers)
Then, listen again and fill in the price tags. (Check the answers together.) Purpose: to practice what we learned by listening, and improve our listening skills. Step 3 Practice Game Time! Let's guess the prices!
Choose one number, and guess the prices. If you are right, you will get one point, and if you are wrong, you will get on point.
Purpose: To pricetice sentence patterns in Games, and this will help students be interested in learning.
Step 4 Consolidation and Extension.
Fathers' Day is coming. You want to buy some gifts for your father. One student acts as a salesman, and make conversations with your partner. For example:
--- Can I help you?
---Yes, please! I want to buy... ----How much is it/ are they? ----It is/ They are...
---OK. I'll take it. Here is the money. --- Here you are. ----Thanks.
Ask three pairs to act their conversations out, and make short comment. Purpose: to put language points we learned into our real life. Step 5 Summary
Make a conclusion about language points learned today together. On Blackboard
