Ⅰ. Studying Aims and Demands
1. Learn these words and be able to say and read these words:

3. To improve listening skills.

Be able to talk about things and prices
【Teaching steps】
Step 1. Lead-in 1. Listen to a song.
2. Talk about Christmas Day. Show the gifts to the students. Introduce the tasks to
the students.
3. Use the bus stop board to review the numbers 1—10.Lead in the new word 11. Step 2. Presentation
Take the lift to the store. Count the floors and teach numbers 11—31. pay attention to the pronunciation. 1. Game1: Magic fingers for 13/15.
Game2: Teacher points to one group ,the Ss in that group stand up quickly and read it together loudly. 2. Game time.
(1)Read the numbers. (2)Lucky draw. Step 3. Group work
1. Let Ss line up from 11 to 19 as quickly as possible. And count off one by one. 2. Put the numbers in the right order. Which group is the quickest? Then let
students find out and summarize the number rules.
3. Listen to the numbers and the students with the correct numbers stand up .Then
check the numbers. Students say the numbers and sit down.
4. Take the lift. Teacher presses the 11th floor and get to the store.
Step 4. Before listening
Ask Ss to guess the prices first. Then listen and check the prices. A card for the student who gets the correct price. Step 5. Listening tasks
1. Listening task 1: Listen and check the things that Kate and her mom talk about. 2. Listening task 2: Listen and get the prices.
3. Listening task 3: Listen and check the things Kate buys. Step 6. Group work “Be the best salesman” 1. Watch a video.
2. Practice in groups at first. Example:
A: Can I help you? B: Yes, please. How much is/are the…? A:It’s/They’ re…dollars. B:I’ll take it/them.
A: Here you are. B:Thank you. A: You’re welcome.
3. Then two students come and sell the things at the same time. One student can come and buy the things by using the cards. The Ss who sells out the most things will be the best salesman. Step 7. Summary
1. In this period, We’ve learnt the cardinal numbers 10-31
2. How to ask the prices. How much is/are…? It’s/They’re…. 3. Learn to save money.
