2学情分析
Analysis of the students:
Students are in Grade Three. They have already learnt English for more two  years. They have known a lot of names of animals, such as rabbit, cat, dog, mouse, hamster, fish and so on. Students like English very much and they love English games and activities.

Teaching key points and difficult points:
1. Students can talk about the animals fluently using What’s this? It’s a_____.
2. Students try their best to describe the animals using the different ways.

Teaching Procedures:
Warm up
① Greet with students.
② Guessing game: What is it?
③Brainstorm:
 T: What animals do you know?
 S1: I know ___.S2____.S3_____.
Presentation:
① Lead in
T: There’s a beautiful farm. Do you want to see it? Are you ready? Let’s go.
T: Listen, watch and sing.
S: Watch the screen.( CAI)
T: What’s the name of the farm?
S: Old mcdonald
T: What animals can you see?
S: I can see a __.
T: I can see a ___, too.(Take out the teacher card.)
②Present the cards.
T: What’ s this? S: It’s a ___.
S: Try to spell the word.
3. Practice
① Act and guess the animal.
T: Who wants to act like this?( Use CAI to present the sound of pigs.)
T: What’s this?  S: Guess the animal.
②Students learn about Moo, moo- cow, neigh, neigh-horse, woof, woof-dog, quack, quack-duck using the same way.
③Read and match.
T: Make a model: Quack, quack , what’s this? It’s a duck. Please draw a line between the quack and the duck.
   Check the answer and say the chant.
Wrap up
Guessing game: Who am I?(CAI)
Act and guess: What’s this?(Work in groups.)
Four students are in a group. One student acts like one kind of animal and ask what’s this?, other students guess It’s a ____.
③Read the story : At the zoo
   T: Today we’ve known  a lot of animal friends. Do you love animals? Where do we see lots of animals? At the zoo. Let’s read a story.
Homework.
Draw a picture of your favorite animal and talk about it.
Read some stories about animals.
