Teaching aims

Language aim:
a) enable the students to use unreal conditionals to talk about the present, the future and the past.
b) enable the students to use unreal conditionals in dialogues, poems and sentence correction.
B. Language skills:
To express one’s opinions through sentence drill and story- telling, creating situations to practice the four basic language skills.

Attitude development:
Get a better understanding of using unreal conditionals in different situations to express a wish, a regret or a concern for our environment.

Mixed unreal conditionals, if-hidden unreal conditionals and if-omitted unreal conditionals

Teaching Process
Step 1, lead-in: Read a song lyric together and draw students’ attention to the use of unreal conditionals in the song.
Step 2, Show different groups of pictures and create situations for students to practise and summarize the use of unreal conditionals.
Step 3, Highlight the use of if- hidden and if-omitted unreal conditionals based on the previous practise.
Step 4, Consolidate the use of unreal conditionals by providing three different tasks.
Step 5, Use unreal conditionals to express our concern for the environment by writing and presenting.
