    To train the students’ ability of listening and speaking. 
3) Moral Objects: 
    We should try our best to make something better and better.

Students have learned some description words, but they can't compare two different people or things.

    Use the target language to practice the oral English.
4教学过程
4.1Period 1
4.1.1Step1. Warming up
       First, look at the pictures. One is a turtle, the other is a rabbit. Make an introduction---“more outgoing”. Then enjoy a movie. Ask the students what the story is about. Arouse the interest of talking about their looks. Lead in the topic–personal traits and the target language---comparative degree.
4.1.2Step 2. Presentation
1.Teach the target language. How to compare the rabbit and the turtle by using comparatives with –r/er/ier/more.
2.Let the students have a try.
4.1.3Step 3. Practice
1) Ask students to practice some words with comparative degree group by group.
2) Play a comparison game. Show students five pictures one by one, and then use the pictures to compare different people. Pay attention to the key sentence pattern: A+ be +形容词的比较级+than + B.
3) The students in groups practice the sentences.
4.1.4Step 4. Listening 
1) Page 17, 1b, talk about the picture, listen and number the pairs of twins in the pictures from 1 to 3.
2) Listen again and complete the conversations.
3) Role-play the conversations.
4.1.5Step 5 Game time
    Ask two students who are very different from each other stand in front of the class as models, and then make a comparison about them using comparative degree group by group. If the sentence is wrong or is spoken slowly, the group will be out. At last, the group left is winner. The winner will get a model plane.
4.1.6Step 6 A report
      Look at the video about the changes of Jingmen. If you are a reporter from Jingmen TV station, please introduce Jingmen. Work in groups to finish a report, and then ask two students to report the changes of Jingmen City.
4.1.7Step 7 Summary and Homework 
     Summarize what we have learned today. Tell the students to study harder to make our country stronger.
