1. Knowledge Objectives
1) Students are able to know the related vocabulary, general sentence patterns and structures.
2) Students are able to express how to describe the procedures of cloning in an oral way. 2. Skill Objectives
1) Students are able to participate in the peer and group work to have a brainstorming discussion.
2) Students are able to make sample comments on whether people cloning is a good thing or not.
3) Students can grasp some comprehensive skills. 3. Moral Objectives
1) Students are able to develop intrinsic motivation in learning science in
English and enjoy the process in brainstorming and discussion and develop team spirit among working with their partners. 2) Students are encouraged to be creative, and confident. Ⅳ 教学重难点 1. Teaching Key Points
1) To help students grasp the related vocabulary, general sentence patterns and structures of suggestion letter writing in a proper way.
2) To help students express how to describe the procedures of cloning in an oral way.

1) To stimulate students‟ already known knowledge in reading skills. 2) To inspire students‟ interest in learning science in English.

Ⅵ 教学过程 Task 1: Warming-up
1) In this period, students can receive a piece of news . There are a lot of
cloned twins in the entertainment industry. Then students will see a lot of pictures of stars who look alike.
2) Most importantly, the teacher can introduce a topic based on the picture. Anther two groups of pictures will be showed? Design purpose:
1) It serves as a leading-in.
2) Students‟ interest and curiosity in science and this lesson are stimulated by showing pictures. Task 2: Pre- reading
1) Students are invited to predict the passage according to three angles: writing style; language writer‟s attitude.
2) Students are invited to predict the contents of the passage. And then read the passage silently to find out the main idea of each paragraph. Design purpose:
1) Students can grasp the reading skills. Task 3: Detailed reading
1) Students are encouraged to find out the definition of cloning.
2) Then with the help of key words, students should find the uses of cloning quickly.
3) Students are asked to show the procedures of cloning with the help of technical words on the blackboard.
4) Students are asked to find out the outcome of Dolly and guess the realmeaning of “the same arbitrary fate”.
5) Fill in the blanks using the information from the text in groups. It „s about the advantage and disadvantage of cloning . Design purpose:
1) Students can grasp the reading skills.
2) Students can develop appropriate strategies in dealing with the mistakes during group work, which will be motivated in producing language more actively and lead to higher language proficiency. 3) The team and cooperation spirit will be aroused. Task 4: Post-reading
1) A lot of cloning pictures are showed to the students. Then students can be given a conclusion: Clones are always on the way.
2) Students are asked to discuss with a topic: Are you in favor of or against of people cloning? Design purpose:
1) The task can develop students „logical thinking and text forming ability. 2) Students can develop appropriate strategies in dealing with the mistakes during group work, which will be motivated in producing language more actively and lead to higher language proficiency. 3) The team and cooperation spirit will be aroused. Task 5: Homework
1) Read the passage again and Find all the appositive clauses in the
passage. Design purpose:
1) Students‟ interest confidence in learning English will be greatly improved.
Ⅶ 教学反思 1. Merits :
1) Students are provided with the sentence pattern supporters and also regard the writing as a process through which the students can discover and formulate their ideas. Meanwhile, they attempt to create the writing through writing techniques like brainstorming, peer feedback and teacher feedback.
2) Students can enjoy the fun in the class through multimedia and are better encouraged to participate in the class.
3) The teacher can combine the advantages of different teaching approaches. 2. Demerits:
1) Some students may dominate the group work. 2) It is not easy for the teacher to monitor the class.
3) Some students feel nervous and anxious when they are invited to present.
