《英语课程标准》（实验）要求关注学生情感，使学生在英语学习的过程中，提高独立思考和判断的能力，发展与人沟通和合作的能力。保持积极的学习态度是英语学习成功的关键。本课小组活动的形式致力于培养学生与他人合作的意识与合作学习的能力，同时对英语学习进行了深入思考。
《英语课程标准》（实验）中明确指出，高中英语课程应使学生形成有效的英语学习策略。本课旨在通过渗透听力策略技巧如听强调词、记笔记获取关键词等培养学生使用策略的意识。

1. 思维品质的培养。根据培养学生英语核心素养的要求，本课在关注语言学习的同时，注重培养学生的批判性思维，从优势和不足两方面对不同的英语学习方法进行辩证思维，让学生了解不是所有方法都能解决自己的问题。
2. 合作学习的鼓励。本课充分发挥了小组合作的优势。从听前头脑风暴的讨论到各种方法的优劣势对比再到呈现对话、给建议解决问题，本课旨在培养用合作的方式讨论与解决实际问题的意识。
3. 听力策略的渗透。高一的学生对听力策略没有概念，可以抓住机会点到一些听力策略，培养学生在听力过程中使用策略的意识，每一堂与听力相关的课都可以进行策略渗透。
4. 教学内容的结合。通过分析教学内容，教师发现本单元workbook中的听、说和写作任务完全可以按照同一话题——英语学习的方法进行有机结合，而且正好可以用获取信息、分析信息、解决问题的一条思维线串联起来。
