Warming up and Reading教学设计
一、教材分析
本单元介绍的主题是“地震”。主要描写了1976年唐山大地震,各项语言活动也都是围绕地震展开。Warming-up 部分通过两张图片引出话题“一旦地震发生,将会造成怎样的危害”,为后面的主题作了一个热身运动。Reading 部分具体描写了1976年唐山大地震的震前、震中和震后。作者详细描述了地震来临前的一些不正常的自然现象及动物的反常表现;地震的来势汹汹并在顷刻间将整座城市夷为平地;震后人们勇敢面对现实并及时实施抢救和重建工作。 二、学生情况分析
高一学生对英语学习兴趣浓厚,能积极参加各种活动,如话题讨论,调查,报告,有一定的综合语言运用能力。 三、教学目标
1、让学生对唐山大地震有更多的了解。 2、培养学生的略读和精读能力。 3、提高学生在地震中的保护意识。 四、教学重点:
1、提高学生精读和略读的技巧。 2、让学生意识到自我保护的重要性。 五、教学难点
学生如何在最短的时间内寻找有用的信息。 六、教学辅助设备 1、PPT 2、投影 3、视频
七、教学设计
Lead-in
(1mins)
1. Showing a video when students come in the class. The video is a song sang by Micheal Jackson——the Earth Song. 2. Ask the students if they have heard this song before. 3. Lead in the topic——earth Warming up (2 mins)
1. Showing some pictures about natural disasters and lead to “ earthquake”. Fast Reading
1. Task 1 (3 mins)——Complete a brief outline of the story. (Using some key words )

Students activity: read the text quickly and find the answers to the blank the teacher showing in the screen. And then give answers together.
2. Task2 (4 mins)——According to the following 3 key words, divide the whole passage into 3 parts, and find out the topic sentences. 1-signs(迹象) 2-damage; 3-rescue(救援)
Students activity: Finish the task and be ready to be asked.
Careful Reading
1. Task3 (8 mins)——Read carefully through the text and find answers to the following Qs in the blank.

Students activity: Finish the task, underline some keys words in the text and be ready to be asked.

Ask the students to fill in the blank and read the summary together.

Group Work (6 mins)
1. Task4——Discussion and Speaking What shall we do if an earthquakehappens?
Students activity: Discuss the question with group members and be ready to talk about their opinions.
Teacher’s activity: Move around the class to see if they need help. Then ask 2 groups to share their ideas. Finally, give some tips on how to keep safety in earthquake.

优点:
1. 学生对过程和指令比较清晰,能按要求完成4个任务。
2. 学生能大体上掌握略读以了解大意和精读以寻找细节的技巧。 3. 谈论环节学生表现良好,说明学生的综合能力不错。
改进:
讨论环节是整节课的升华,是体现学生主体性的一个重要部分,但此部分给的时间不够充足,只有一组学生有机会展示。
