1.Our students are in Grade 5.
2.They are very active and curious about many things. 3.They can do some activities according to teacher’s instructions. 重难点 Key points:
1. Master the new words, sleeping playing climbing jumping eating drinking
2. Can use the words they learnt to describe the thing someone
is doing correctly.
Difficult point: To use is and are correctly 教学过程 Warm- up
Greet and group students. (设计意图:让学生尽快融入到英语学习的环境,并鼓励孩子多思考,多发言。)
1.Create the situation of language learning, In the morning, Chen jie and Fido go to the zoo, let’s go with her.
2.Watch the cartoon and find what animals can you see in the zoo and what are they doing? (Singing a song can arouse the Ss’ participation desire and lead Ss into a thick English studying atmosphere ) Revision
Let students say the animals they see. Then show the animals one by one.(设计意图:本单元主要讲到动物在做某事,让学生对动物进行复习) Presentation

Practice Step 1单词游戏
1. I do, you say(我做你说)I do the actions, you say the words.(我做动作,你说单词).
2. Chen jie says.(listen to Chen Jie's order. If there is a “Chen Jie says”before the word , you read after her and do action. but if there isn't a “Chen Jie says” before the word. You should keep quiet!)
3. A chant.(Maybe you are a little tired. Now let’s have a chant and relax together.) Step 2
1.create the situation of language learning, At noon, Chen jie and Fido go to a restaurant, they see a girl. Picture 1What is she doing? After lunch, they go out, they see a boy. Picture 2 What is the boy doing? Then, they see two boys, Picture 3what arethey doing?(区分is和are).
2.Work in pairs. Use the sentences to ask and answer. What is he/she doing? He/She is...... What are they doing? They are......
Come to the front, Choose one picture from teacher to ask and answer. Step 3
Listen and answer questions. 1. What is Fido doing? It is sleeping.
2. What are the rabbits doing?
They are playing with each other.(Let two students do action to help us understand “play with each other”) Extension
1.Create the situation of language learning. In the evening, Chen jie write a diary, but it is broken by Fido, let’s help her to complete it(区分Is和are)
2.Then write your own diary. let three students read out their diary. Homework 1.Make a survey.
