一、教学内容
   Last July Lingling went to Xinjiang with her parents. Xinjiang is in the west of China. She rode a horse. She climbed the Tianshan Mountains. She visited the Tianchi Lake. It was very beautiful. She had a lovely time there.
本课是《新标准英语》(三年级起点)五年级下册的第6模块第2单元,主题是“She visited the Tianchi Lake.”本课以介绍旅行经历为主要教学内容。
   本课的学习重点是描述自己或他人的旅行经历,包括景区风景和自己的心情。本课将继续巩固一般过去时的运用。

三、教学过程
Step1. Warm-up
1)      Greeting
T: Hello, boys and girls! I’m Linda.
Ss: Hello, Linda!
T: Nice to meet you!
Ss: Nice to meet you, too!
2)      Free talk
T: Do you like traveling?
Ss: Yes.
T: It’s the first time I come to Xiamen.
  Where is Xiamen?
Sa: …
T: It’s in the southeast of China. (教读单词south, east, southeast)
T: I like traveling very much. Can you tell me some interesting places in Xiamen?
Ss: Yes.

T: Thank you! I’ll visit there after class.
 
Step2. Presentation
T: Last year I went to a beautiful city. It’s very cold in winter. Where did I go? Can you guess?
Ss: Harbin
T: Yes, I went to Harbin with my friend. Where is Harbin?
  It’s in the northeast of China. (教读单词north)
T: Listen. How did I go there?
It was very cold. I played in the snow and I made a snowman.
  What else did I do? Guess?
Sa: take photos

T: I took lots of photos. I ate nice food.
Do you remember Linda’s travel?
Where did Linda go?
When did she go there?
Who did she go with?
How did she go there?
What did she do?
 
Step3. Learning the text
(1)   Look and answer
T: Lingling likes traveling too. She went to a beautiful place.
  Look and answer. Where did Lingling go?
(2)   Read carefully and answer questions.
When did she go there?
Who did she go with?
What did she do?
 
Step4. Pair work: Ask and answer
T: This is Lingling’s travel in Xinjiang.
Do you like traveling?
Sa: Yes.
T: Where did you go?
Sa: I went to...
T: When did you go there?
Sa: I went there…

T: Ask and answer in pairs.
 
Step5. Extension
Students work in group of four. Write down their travel. Read in groups and choose one travel star to report to the class.
 
Step6. Homework
Please use your photos to make a PPT about your travel. Write a short passage about it in English. Share with your friends.
