a. to enable Ss to master the usage of the key words and key
phrases. For example:discussion, happen, may, expect, joke, want to do, hope to do, expect to do, plan to do.
b. to help Ss master the usage of the infinitives as an object:to
do

To enable Ss to talk about preferences and to learn to make plans. Emotion and moral objective:
To help Ss to show their preferences to each other

to enable Ss to master the usage of the infinitives as an object through making conversations using expect to/hope to/plan ton etc.

Teaching Steps
Step 1. Lead-In
Present the audios of some TV shows and ask students to guess what kind of the TV show is and show the pictures of them. Then ask students some questions about some TV shows using what do you think of....../how do you like ........
Step 2.Listening part.
Play the audios of 2a and 2b. Help Ss to be familiar with today’s teaching topic.
Step3.Pair work
Present Ss sentence patterns and ask them to do pair work with their partners. This step aims to help students to learn about how to use plan to /hope to.
A. Do you plan to watch......? B. Yes. I like...... A. Why
B. Because I hope to..........
Step 4. Role-play the conversation.
Play the audio of 2d and ask students to listen to it and match the students with their favourite shows.
Ask students to role play the conversation.
Explain the key points of this conversations(discussion, follow, expect to, hope to )
Step 5 Grammar Focus
Show Ss a mind-map of grammar focus.
Explain to Ss how to talk about their preference for the TV shows properly.
Step6 Presentation
Ask Ss to make a conversation based on step5 and show it to the whole class.
Step7 Do a small survey.
Present five questions on a piece of sheet and ask Ss to make a survey in groups and to give a report.
Step 8 Conclusion
Make a small summary about today’s lesson.
Teaching Reflection
The advantages:
Put more emphasis on the practice of how to talk about the TV shows and design three kinds of activities to deepen Ss’s comprehension.
Take Ss as the center of class.
The disadvantages
The allocation of teaching time is not that reasonable. More students should be involved into the activities.
