Analysis
of the teaching material
The topic of this unit is shopping . From learning this unit, students should:
1. Practice using how much questions to ask about prices . 2. Talk about clothes.
3. Use the,this/that, these/those to ask and answer questions . 4. Offer help
5. Thank someone.
This is the second period of the unit, the main purpose is:
1) to teach and learn how to ask about prices by using how much questions,
(1) —How much is…? —It's… (2) —How much are…? They're …
2) to offer another way “—What’s the price of...? —It’s...” 3) to teach students how to go shopping.
From a series of input and output activities, students should learn
1. to cooperate with their classmates;

2. to be friendly to others; 3. to give help and express thanks.
Analysis of the students
1. Psychological aspects:students are 12-14 teenagers,they are young boys and girls with a strong wish to be independent and they are full of ego consciousness. They are eager to express themselves and also wish to be accepted by the teacher and other students, they even like to show them off.
2. Language aspects:Students have learned to say colors,clothing
and how to use the, this/that, these/those, also they have learned how to talk about prices.
But as Chinese students, they are lack of experience of using English , they need grammar analysis and also lots of exercises.
For the above reasons, activities based on their everyday life can greatly draw the students interest, encourage them to say and enable them to join in the class activities. Only when the students can put themselves into the class , their ability of using language, good experience from learning and helping others can be obtained. Design

According to the New Curriculum Standard, this period of teaching
and learning activities reflects the spirit:

Design highlights
Combined the students’ real ability, I have adjusted, supplemented and deleted the teaching materials, made the language teaching and learning to be Presented in the form of a classroom sitcom, the teacher designed the script, rap lyrics, students recorded the rap piece, the teacher and students participate in the performance of the
sitcom live in class. A dull grammar lesson turns into a lively sitcom performance.
All the teaching props were designed and made by the teacher and the students, all the students and the teacher are also actors and actresses in the sitcom. Students are greatly attracted to the class activities, So the result is excellent. Teaching aims
