Unit7 How much are these socks?

2. Functions: Ask about prices; talk about clothing; offer help; thank someone. 3. Structures: How much questions.
4. Useful words & expressions: clothes, socks, T-shirt, shorts, sweater, trousers, shoes, skirt, dollar, big, small, short, long, how much, a pair of.
Students analysis: Students of Grade 7. They are active and creative. They have mastered some knowledge of English. They have learned the present tense, demonstrative pronouns, affirmative and negative statements, Yes/No questions and wh-questions.
Teaching objective:
1. Linguistic objective: Master the new words, phrases and key sentences.
2. Ability objective: (1) Review the words of clothing, colors and shapes. (2) Consolidate target sentence patterns. (3) Learn how to make conversations when going shopping.
3. Cultural objective: Don’t waste money and help the people in need. Strategies:
1. Before class, let students review some words of clothing and learn how to shop by watching a micro-video. Then finish some tasks on the students’ handouts.
2. While having class, show a picture of the charity sale held by some class in our school to arouse students’ interest and review the words of clothing.
3. Classify the mistakes from students’ tasks, and lead students to correct them. And consolidate the target sentence patterns by finishing exercises in 3a and 3b.
4. Encourage students to summarize useful sentences while shopping and call on students to help people in need.
5. Create 6 situations. Each group chooses one to offer help and buy something for them. Make up conversations of shopping and show to other students. Teaching aids:
