一、整体设计思路、指导依据说明
英语学科的核心素养包括语言能力、学习能力、思维品质和文化品格这四个维度,要求在已发展学生语言能力为核心的前提下提高学生的学习能力、思维品质和文化品格。因此,本节课的教学设计以英语核心素养的四维目标为出发点,在Kangkang他们为Free the Children筹钱而举办国际美食节的背景下,以“How to prepare a food festival?”为课脉,对本节课文本进行深入挖掘,我从What food will you prepare?How to make a poster?以及Who will you invite and how to write an invitation三个教学环节入手,通过学生自主、合作、探究的教学形式设计以学生为中心的相关活动及内容,创设real-life situations和利用mind-map等活动形式来开展任务型的教学模式。同时,力争运用“Brainstorming”,“Round-Table”和“Think-pair-share”的理念来扩大学生的参与量,培养学生充分掌握各个国家特色食物的基本表达方式;并要求学生能读懂并解释海报信息,通过小组活动能够制作海报;复习有关邀请的句型,能就身边的活动写出简单的邀请函的听、说、读、写能力,同时也注重对学生思维能力、创新能力、合作交流能力以及学习策略的培养,从而全面提高学生的综合语言运用能力。
二、教学背景
一、教学内容分析:
Unit 7 Topic 1 主要讨论康康和他的朋友们讨论筹备美食节并将所得资金捐给Free the Children组织。本单元的教学内容主要围绕“美食节”展开,融入了功能项目里社交中的“提建议”、“赞美”和“邀请”等目标语言,倡导学生在学习的同时,学会关心照顾别人以及帮助世界上其他国家需要帮助的人,树立正确的人生观和价值观;主张在了解中国饮食文化的基础上,了解不同国家的饮食习俗,培养学生正确的健康的饮食习惯。

二、学生情况分析
作为八年级的学生,不管是审题还是心理都处于一个成长发展的转折点,可塑性大,敢于主动尝试和独立追求。在英语的学习上,经过七年级和八年级上册的学习,已经基本适应了初中因故的学习方式和过程,也已经具备了一定的听说读写的能力,相信本节课以主动帮助贫困儿童为目的来筹划一场美食节为话题,在老师精心设计的相关活动和任务重,他们也一定会积极参与,乐于学习的。
三、教学目标
语言能力目标:
1、学习并掌握新短语come true、in order to... 2、掌握that引导的宾语从句的用法。 3、复习有关邀请的句型和写出简单的邀请函。
4、能读懂并解释海报信息,通过小组活动能够制作海报。 学习能力目标:
通过阅读、讨论、探究等活动,能让学生在课堂中集中注意力,积极思考,能够在制作海报和写邀请函两个任务重,利用已学相关知识、技能和策略做到知识的迁移和输出,从而全面提高学生的综合语言运用能力。 思维品质目标:
从课堂引入和呈现后的Brainstorming以及课中设置的各种话题讨论、完成任务再到课堂上的产生的生成性成果等一系列自主型、合作型、探究型、开放型活动,鼓励学生培养乐于助人、善于助人的品质,也能够积极参与课堂小组合作、培养自己乐观、自信、乐于合作的优良品质的同时,也充分地对学生自主独立思考、发散想象、批判创新等思维品质的培育。 文化品格目标:
了解各国的饮食习惯以及各国代表性美食,了解魁克.柯伯格和他的“解放儿童组织”,了解欠发达地区孩子的学习生活状况。
然后,在交流讨论筹备美食节的过程中拓展思维,让学生全面了解现有生活的不易,珍惜生活,并积极投身于公益事业,帮助他人。
四、教学重、难点

教学重点:
1.能根据图、文就“美食节”进行筹划,食物准备,并与同学交流。 2.能运用所学知识写出一场准备“美食节”的工作流程,所需要准备的食物,所要发出的邀请函和海报。
教学难点: 能在老师的引导下运用that引导的宾语从句。

Step1: Watch a short video about poor children in China.
T: We know that there are many poor children in Kenya. Kangkang and his classmates want to hold a food festival and raise money to give to Free the Children!
After watching it, how do you feel now? Do you want to help them? Do you want to be a helpful people? And how to help them?Can you give some advice?

Conclusion: Maybe we can hold a food festival.

If we want to have a food festival, we should finish these 3 tasks. If we want to be a helpful people and make our dreams come true, we must try our best.
Stage 3:
While-learning Task 1 What food will you prepare? Step 1 Guess: What food will I prepare?
Show some pictures of delicious food to attract students, and let students say:I guess that......
(Purpose: 学习较难的新单词,引导学生掌握宾语从句that的用法。) Step 2 Brainstorming(头脑风暴):What food will you prepare?
Let students think it over by themselves, then remember more words about words.
(Purpose:Input some words in order to output some sentences. Pay attention to
the key words before making a poster and writing an invitation. )
Task 2 How to make a poster?
Step 1 Read the poster in details and answer the following 5 questions. 1、When will Kangkang and his classmates have the food festival? 2、Where will Kangkang and his classmates have the food festival? 3、Why do they have the food festival? 4、Who wants to help the children in Kenya? 5、What does Craig work for?
(Purpose: 学生独立完成,仔细阅读海报,通过做题,感知制作海报时需要注意哪些点。)

Step 2 Discuss: How to make a poster?
Ss: A poster usually gives answers to Wh-questions, i.e. what, when, where, why, who, etc.
(Purpose: 小组合作讨论,总结规律。)
Task 3 Who will you invite and how to write an invitation?
Step 1 Give an example about an invitation to one of Kangkang's friends. Then let's find some rules. Dear David,
I would like to invite you to the international food festival at Beijing International School at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 16th.We students will cook many delicious international foods and sell them in order to raise money for a village school in Kenya. Hope to see you then!

Stage 4: Post-learning
Group Work: Be a helpful people.
Step1 Try to make a poster and write an invitation.
The group leader should divide your group members into 2 parts, 4 students make a poster and another 2 students write an invitation.And then the leader will be the reporter(发言人) to show you achievement(成果). Step 2 Practice with the partners.
After each group shows their achievement(成果), you should choose the best one with a smiling face.

(Purpose: 在group leader的带领下,通过小组合作、探究,开展小组活动,对制作海报和写邀请函进行口头和书面创作,对本节课所学的有关美食节的词汇、短语、句子进行综合运用。训练学生利用思维导图收集信息、创新思维、书面表达以及口头组篇的能力。同时,这样的活动扩大了学生的卷入量,达到人人有事做,事事有人做。)

(Purpose: 运用磁铁将key words贴在黑板上,最后进行翻转,形成一颗心。对成为一个乐于助人的人进行了深入的挖掘,对学生情感态度和价值观再度升华。) Step 4 Homework
1、Help the poor people in need, and make your poster and invitation perfect. 2、Find some other proverbs (谚语)about food .
(Purpose: 让学生完善海报和邀请函,加深巩固技能。让学生全面了解现有生活的不易,珍惜生活,并积极投身于公益事业,帮助他人。)
七、教学评价
1、评价内容:
对学生学习过程表现、学生个人及小组进行综合评价。本节课将从学生独立思考、积极参与、语言交流、个人思维、课堂目标语的表达和创新程度、小组合作成果等方面对学生和所在的小组进行评价。 2、评价方法:
口头评价,鼓励性评价,个别评价,分层评价。
小组评价:每回答一个问题,该小组加1分;上台展示一次加三分;表现特别精彩另外加1---2分。
统计办法:分小组计分,课后统计总分。积分最多小组将获得奖励。
