3. The teaching material: There are six modules in Revision Module A in total. They are different in topics. The sentence patterns from 3 modules are related to the theme-a plan for the volunteer job, while some useful expressions from the six modules are also applied in the tasks. So this class is based on solving tasks in different levels with an aim to achieving the perfection of writing a plan for the volunteer job.
Analysis of students:
1. The topic ”a plan for a volunteer job” is close to students’ real lives in our school. My students are able to talk about their abilities and plans. In addition, they are willing to express themselves. 2. Most students are familiar with the majority of new words and expressions. They also have a basic understanding of volunteer job because they’ve experienced foreign students’ visits before. These may help students make a plan for volunteer job properly.
Teaching objectives:
By the end of the lesson, most students will be able to make a plan for the volunteer job according to different classes with rich language. This will be achieved by
1. consolidating the learned words and expressions of describing abilities, plans and character 2. summarizing different expressions by reading and speaking
3. using the target language through writing letters for a volunteer job in real-life situations 4. discussing and sharing with others to cultivate the ability of critical thinking in English
5. arousing students’ awareness of Chinese culture and developing their quality of helping others Teaching focuses:
