教学目标
1. 能够听、说、读、写关于月份的六个单词:January, February, March, April, May, June.
2. 能够听、说、认读、理解一些节假日的英文表达,如Tree Planting Day, New Year’s Day等,并能够用When is …? It’s in …. 来交流其所在的月份。
3. 能够初步了解school calendar的结构、12个月在四季中的分布以及部分节日的相关文化,尤其是中国春节的时间。
2学情分析
经过两年半的英语学习,五年级的孩子已经熟悉英语课堂的教学指令,具有较好的语言表达能力。三、四年级的语音训练,使大部分学生具有良好的拼读能力,对掌握新单词的读音、认读单词具有极大的帮助。同时,在本册教材的第一、二单元,学生已经学会了四个季节的表达,掌握了不少动词短语,加之本课中的很多节日都为他们所熟悉,他们有话可说,均为本课的语言输出打好了基础。
3重点难点
教学重点:
1. 能够听、说、读、写月份单词:January, February, March, April, May, June;
2. 能够听、说、认读、理解一些节假日的英文表达,并能够用When is …? It’s in …. 来交流其所在的月份。
教学难点:
1. 能够掌握January, February两个单词的正确读音;
2. 能够准确地用英文表述课文中的节假日及其所在具体月份。
4教学过程
4.1第一学时
4.1.1教学目标
1. 能够听、说、读、写关于月份的单词:January, February, March, April, May, June.

活动1【导入】Ⅰ. Warm up
1. Lead in : school calendar.
T: Look, today we will go on learning unit 3 My school calendar.This is a school calendar. Is it for your school?
Ss: No.
T: It is for ….
Ss: Sarah’s school, Chen Jie’s school.
T: Yes. Is it for Mike’s school?
Ss: Yes.
2. Get to know the school calendar and part of the fun things.
A. Take a close look at the calendar.
On the left side, we can see the months.
On the right side, we can see the fun things.
B. Introduce the fun things you see on the calendar.
Ss say and T sticks the phrases on the Bb.
( Easter party, winter vacation, singing contest, May Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day)
【设计意图】考虑到本课的教学内容多而且难,所以选择了开门见山、直奔主题的方式。以school calendar作为课件封面,直观明了,便于理解;通过设问引出本课话题:calendar of Mike’s school;近看了解calendar的结构,同时引出了比较简单的几个节假日,分解难点,轻负高质。
活动2【讲授】Ⅱ. Presentation and practice
1. Guess the rest fun things.
A. Take ‘ Tree Planting Day’ as an instance.
B. Guess with your deskmates according to some key words: What are the rest fun things?
C. Feed back.
T Presents the phases on to the Bb:
(Tree Planting Day, sports meet, school trip, Children’s Day)
D. Listen and match.
2. Learn ‘ March’.
A. Lead in.
T: Now, Let’s check, when is Tree Planting Day?
S1: It’s in March.
T: Right. Answer me together: When is Tree Planting Day?

4. Learn ‘May’.

Mother’s Day, singing contest, school trip, May Day
T sticks them beside ‘May’.
E.When is Mother’s Day? --- It’s on the second Sunday in May.

Carnation --- the flower for Mother’s Day.
5. Learn ‘June’.
A. Lead in through the same way as ‘March’. --- When is Children’s Day?
B. Listen, imitate and try to spell it.
C. Write on the Bb.
D. What else is in May, too? Father’s Day,
T sticks it beside ‘June’.
E. When is Father’s Day? --- It’s on the third Sunday in June.
What will you do for your father? --- I will ….
Red rose or white rose --- the flower for Father’s Day.
【设计意图】Tree Planting Day, sports meet, school trip, Children’s Day,这四个活动是让学生通过联想关键词来讨论获得的,意在培养学生的思维能力,扩大教学活动的参与面。利用‘Listen and match’反馈的过程逐个引出March, April, May, June,自然且条理清晰。在单词教学中,关注语音的迁移、音节的划分,培养学生的拼读能力;以错引对的形成性书写展示,更是让学生对开头字母大写印象深刻;词不离句,读的基础上努力构建语言支架,力求丰富其表达,增加交流的容量。
6. Learn ‘January’, ‘February’.
A. Lead in ‘January’, ‘February’.
T: We have known in Mike’s school, there are so many fun things in ….
Ss: March, April, May, June.
T: So, what about these 2 months?
Ss: Winter vacation.
T: When is the winter vacation?
Ss: It’s in January and February.

【设计意图】January, February这两个词的读音是本课的难点之一,除了拆音节拼写、拼读之外,我还设计了一首儿歌,朗朗上口,学生比较喜欢。在此基础上展开了‘New Year’s Day’, ‘Spring Festival’的学习,尤其是春节,让孩子们了解、会说It’s usually in February. Sometimes it’s in January.是对本土文化的拓展,很有意义。
活动3【活动】Ⅲ. Consolidation and extension
1. Sum up 1
A. Read the words together: January, February, March, April, May, June.
B. Ss spell and T writes their short forms on Bb.
2. Let’s learn
A. Listen carefully and pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.
B. Read all together.
3. Read and say.
Tick or cross. Correct the names of the months if necessary.
4. Play a game.
Present 6 pictures of holidays one by one. 6 students come to answer the questions : What is it? When is …? They should
answer and choose the word card ,stick it to the month which the holiday is in. The rest students ask the 2 questions.
5. Read and finish Mike’s school calendar.
A. Ss do it by themselves.
B. Ask one student come to show the work.
C. Read together.
6. Sum up 2
The months and seasons.
【设计意图】在巩固拓展环节,有两个Sum up,第一个是结合板书对新学知识的梳理,借机呈现各个月份的缩写形式,这样的比较效果更明显。在听读和课本练习完成之后,课堂气氛有点冷,于是通过游戏来检测学生对所学节假日单词和其所在月份是否已经掌握。台下的学生做老师提问,台上的学生找出词卡,贴到相应的月份单词旁边,台下的老师再确认是否正确。这个过程中,几乎所有的孩子思维都是调动起来的,气氛也非常好。然后,围绕本课话题,来完成文本填空,培养其阅读、书写能力。最后,再结合四季进行Sum up,为接下来的学习做好铺垫。
活动4【作业】IV. Homework
1. 听、读第25页 ‘Let’s learn’内容。
2. 抄写1-6月份单词并拼背。
3. 和朋友做一张你们学校的校历,用When is …? It’s in …. 进行交流。
