五、Teaching procedure: Step I .Warming- up
Play Fizz game(review the numbers) Step II .Lead in and Presentation 1.Lead-in:
Ask the students several questions:What day is it today? How many days are there in a week?.How many months are there in a year?
2.Learn the words about months:
(1)By the vivid pictures on the PPT,teach the words :January ,February,March….
(2)Discuss in groups and say the relevant months according to the festivals. (3)Sing a song 《The months of the year》. 3.Master the sentence structures:
(1)Ask the students “What is your favorite month and why?”Then let the students guess what is my favorite month, state the reason to get the sentence stuctures:When were you born?I was born in...
(2)Ask some of the students this question to get the sentence structures:When was he/she born?He /She was born in...
Step III Practice
1.Play sandbag-throwing game to practice the sentence patterns.
2.Present a map of Qianjiang to get the sentence structures:Where were you born? I was born in…Where was he/she born?He/She was born in….
3.Talk about the four pictures of famous people. 4.Learn the dialogue in 1a.
(1)Show the picture of J.K.Rowling and 《Harry Potter》to let the students know the word novel and the writer .
(2)Students listen to the record and answer the two questions:When was she born?Where was she born?
(3)Listen again and finish the name card. (4)Show the key points. (4)Follow the recording and act the conversation out. Step IV. Production
