一、教学目标: 1. 语言知识目标:
1) 巩固并熟练运用:①屋内房间名称,如: living room, study 等;
②屋内各种摆设的有关词汇,如: clock, lamp等; ③方位介词,如: under, behind, near 等。
2) 能正确地给别人提出建议和劝告,如:You must look after your things. 3) 能正确使用there be句型表示存在与不存在。
4) 能用there be句型谈论房间、室内设施写出介绍自己家的小短文
2. 情感态度价值观目标:
本课通过大量的游戏与竞赛活动,促进学生学会与同伴合作,参与课堂,大胆实践;并学会听取和接受他人的建议。通过参观老师的新家,激发学生对美好生活的向往, 理解家的含义,培养对家的热爱之情。
二、教学重难点 1. 教学重点:
1) 通过游戏和竞赛的方式复习Section A-C的单词和句型,总结本话题所学语法和功能。
2) 阅读本课Tom 的来信,理解信中所给的信息,了解写信格式。 3) 结合中考对书面表达的要求,运用所学there be句型回信给Tom, 介绍自己理想的家。 2. 教学难点:

三、教学过程
Ⅰ. Warming- up 1. Greet the Ss.
2. Sing a song On, in, under, by. Show a video to the Ss. Get the Ss to sing the song with the video and do the actions at the same time. Ⅱ. Revision

1. Go over the prepositions. Show the pictures of Tom & Jerry. Get the Ss to use more prepositions to describe the positional relationship between them.
2. Task 1: ①Sum up all the prepositions in this topic. ②Finish 1 on Page 33 with the prepositions.
3. Task 2: Offer the Ss some nouns: basketball, chair, floor, clock, and
room. Get the Ss to make new prepositional phrases with the nouns and the prepositions. See which group can make the most phrases in thirty seconds.
4. Task 3: Each group gets two students to the front. One gives the instructions like “Please put the pen in the box!”or “Don’t put the
pen in the box!”, and the other student does as he says. See which group can say the most sentences in thirty seconds. Then tell the Ss that we can give some advice to them like “Put your things away, please.
You must look after your things.”
5. Show a picture of a house to the Ss. Tell the Ss something about the house. Make the Ss have the desire to go inside.
6. Task 4: Guessing game. Before going into the house, the Ss must get the key. So they have to guess the words about the room or in the house. Each group gets two students to the front. One student describes the word in English, and the other one guesses. The task is mainly to go over the words and get the Ss to practice using English to describe something.
Ⅲ. Practice 1. Visit the house. ⑴The living room.
The teacher and the students ask and answer questions like this: ① T: Where is the TV? Ss: It’s on the wall.
(Lead in)T: So, there is a TV on the wall.
② T: Where is the picture? Ss: It’s behind the sofas.
(Lead in)T: So, there is a picture behind the sofas.
③ T: Where are the lamps? Ss: They’re near the sofas. (Lead in)T: So,

Ss: There are some lamps near the sofas. ④ T: Where are the sofas?
Ss: They’re at the back of the living room. (Lead in)T: So,
Ss: There are some sofas at the back of the living room. Sum up: When we want to tell others 某地方有某物, we can use the structure “There is /are +主语+介词短语. “. (Show it on the screen) Then get the Ss to use one sentence to describe what’s in the living room. (There are some lamps, some sofas, a TV and a picture in the living
room. or There is a TV, a picture, some lamps and some sofas in the living room.) Tell them to remember “就近原则”. ⑵ The study.
① Ask the Ss “What’s in the study?” Get the Ss to use “There
is/are… “
② Cover the objects in the study.
T: Is there a shelf on the right of the study? Ss: Yes, there is.
T: Is there a desk on the left of the study? Ss: No, there isn’t.
Get the Ss to ask more this kind of questions about the study.
Sum up: When we want to ask others 某地方有某物吗, we can use the structure “Is/Are there +主语+介词短语? “. (Show it on the screen) ⑶ The bedroom.
Cover the objects in the bedroom. Get the Ss to guess. T: How many wardrobes are there next to the window? SS: There is one.
T: How many night tables are there on the right of the bed? SS: There is only one.
Get the Ss to ask more this kind of questions about the study.
Sum up: When we want to ask others about 某地方存在有多少某物, we can use the structure “How many/much +主语+are/is there +介词短语?

Cover the objects in the kitchen. Get the Ss to ask and answer questions in pairs with the patterns and the cue words. ⑸ The dining room.

Do as the above.
⑹ Just show the pictures of the bathroom and the other two bedrooms to the Ss.
2. Task 5: Fill in the Grammar form, and check the answers. Ⅳ. Consolidation
Task 6: Listen and read the letter from Tom in 2. Get the main idea of the letter and learn about the form of a letter. Ⅴ. Project
1. Task 7: Reply to Tom.
Get the Ss to write a composition about their ideal home with group members. It’s also a letter. So before they write, tell the Ss how to write the letter, how to greet others in letters and how to end letters. 2. Stick their group compositions to the blackboard.
3. Select the best composition. Give each student a smiling face. They can stick it to the composition that they think is good. See which one is the best.
4. Get the group leader whose group composition is selected as the best to read their composition in front. Congratulations! 5. Sum up the key points in this lesson. Ⅵ. Homework
1. Read the letter from Tom and try to recite it. 2. Finish the exercises in Workbook SD. 3. Go over the key points in this topic. 4. Preview Section A in Topic 2.
