教材与学情分析
本模块的话题是“动物”，从属于2011版《英语课程标准》第二十个大话题“自然”下的第六十八子话题“动物和植物”。班里绝大部分的学生都去过北京动物园，都很喜欢动物，也渴望了解动物。这有利于激发学生的学习兴趣。本节课主要是动物园的解说员与托尼和玲玲之间的一段对话。通过询问和解答，托尼和玲玲了解了狮子、熊、大熊猫和大象的食物并对这些动物做了简单的评价。
本模块的重点语法是一般现在时单数第三人称肯定句、否定句、一般疑问句及其回答。学生在第五模块已经掌握了一般现在时非三单的肯定句、否定句、一般疑问句及其回答，对于本模块的学习起到了一定的帮助。此外，本单元的词汇大致分为三类。第一类是关于动物的词汇。其中，giraffe、elephant和zebra对于学生来说相对较为陌生。第二类是关于动物的所吃的食物的词汇。其中，plant和bamboo相对较难。第三类是描述动物的形容词。其中，dangerous的读音和拼写对于学生来说较难。本节课将重点放在词汇上面。
授课的班级是初一（4）班，共27名学生。本班属于初一年级的平行班级，整体水平较好，但也存在少数同学与班级平均水平相差较大。本班学生有学习英语的热情，上课积极参与课堂，有良好的记笔记的习惯。本节课是一节PAD展示课，本节课将用到拖动，投屏，屏幕广播，全班推送及高级推送等功能。
教学目标
1. 通过听力获取动物所吃的食物及对其特征的描述的词汇。 2. 能够简单描述动物的来源、食物及其特征等信息。 3. 培养学生热爱动物的情感，增强保护动物的意识。
教学重点
获取动物所吃的食物及对其特征的描述的词汇及简单地描述某一种动物。
教学难点 学生能够自主运用所学的语言来描述动物。

教学流程图
播放一段关于动物园和动物的视频，引出本节课的话题。并了解学生已知的关于动物的词汇，激活学生的背景知识。
通过图片，帮助学生学习关于动物的名称及修饰动物的形容词。
通过听力获取信息。
第一遍。了解对话发生的背景及
主要内容。
第二遍。通过听力完成表格，获取动物所吃的食物和对动物的描述。
观看flash，关注语音语调。
通过问答，基于对话内容，丰富对于熊猫的描述。引导
学生总结出，可以从哪些方面介绍动物。
两人一组介绍狮子和大象，内化介绍动物的语言。
小组活动，组内介绍动物，其他同学猜测这是什么动物。口头落实描述动物的语言。
