2学情分析
高二普通班的学生,对于社科类的文章,在词汇和理解上有一定的困难,所以要先从词汇入手,帮助学生了解克隆的技术的相关术语,然后在阅读中了解克隆的过程以及克隆技术给人类带来的好处,在语言输出上,适当地提供一些引导的语言,帮助他们完成语言的应用。
3重点难点
1. Let students learn more about cloning.
2. Get students to learn different reading skills,especially the reading ability of understanding implied meaning of the author’s.

Step1. Preparing lessons &self-study and exploring the problems(探究问题,引出话题)
Warming up
Talk about the following questions:
1.What is cloning?
2.Cloning can be used in many aspects, do you think cloning is good or bad for human being?

Get the Students to look through Warming-up and think about the two questions. One of the question can be found in the reading text, but another question “Is cloning good or bad ” that is still a question. So in reading,everybody should think about this question.After reading, Ss should try their best to find their answers.(The aim is to direct the students to know the topic and to gain the useful information about clone .
Step2.Finishing plan & improving skills(完成学案,提高技能)
Task1. Skimming

Get the students to skim the passage---- CLONING: WHERE IS IT LEADING US? And do the above exercise .The task of skimming aims to help Ss get the actual information in their reading.Get students improve their reading ability of skimming in the limited time in particular.

This procedure aims to give the students an opportunity to show what they have learnt .

This step needs students to express themselves after they finished the reading and comprehending. It also will help the Ss to state something freely. This step is very important to everybody.
Step3.Researching cooperatively& answering questions(合作探究, 解决问题)
Discuss the following questions with your classmates and change your ideas with others.After your discussion, finish the task “Interview”. In each group,several students should be the “journalists”,and each group must have at least one “interviewee” as the scientist who cloned Dolly the sheep.Prepare your interview,then give a good understanding of what you have learnt.When necessary, you can turn to teacher.

(3). Do you support the idea of producing human embryos for medical purposes?

(9). What are the attitudes of different governments towards human cloning?(What about China?)
(10).Can you say something about the future of cloning?

The presentation is mainly about some dialogues, Ss can work in groups to discuss the above questions and try their best to find the answers to these questions. In this group work, students can change their ideas with others. Finally, in group work , students can make up dialogues to show their roles play. This is the consolidation of this class.
Step4 Summary&Homework(总结复习,升华主题)
1.Sum up the advantages and the disadvantages of cloning.
2.Then write a composition about this topic.

It is the step of summary. After this class, do the summary of this class, especially sum up the advantages and the disadvantages of cloning, then write a composition about this topic.This step will strengthen the reading and show the ability of students.
