Grow From Volunteering
In recent years, an increasing number of people have been contributing their time and talents to society by joining in voluntary work (志愿者工作).
Haunted (萦绕心头) by a strong sense of mission (使命), I joined this phenomenon and worked as a volunteer librarian in my high school during the winner holiday.
This winter, besides learning how to put books on the shelf in order, I also learned some basic knowledge of library codes (编码), making me understand that every easy thing has a profound (深奥的) theory.
Through all these training part and figuring out the importance of working together instead of alone, though the process didn’t seem smooth at first, we eventually made it. Personally, this winter did teach me the lesson about how to effectively finish the task, control our mood and handle the books with care in order to keep a nice atmosphere for readers. Although the voluntary work just lasted seven days, I still appreciated and benefited a lot from the precious experience. By taking part in this activity, I learned the real meanings of team spirit, communication skills and responsibility.
Then it came to me why there are so many people devoted to voluntary work. There is no doubt that volunteering makes contributions to our society and people in need. The volunteers provide their assistance without requiring any financial rewards. Their contributions have a great impact on harmony society contribution. More importantly, your work may help build up warmth and faith for those who get your help, and in return, they will play a significant role in helping others, getting the place we live in warmer and nicer. As long as we put others first, I firmly believe a warmer and more friendly world is drawing near.
