Teaching Aims: 1. Knowledge and Skills:
1) Make students master the basic forms of infinitive.
2) Through analyzing the examples given in the exercise 1, students can summarize rules and practice individually.
2. Process and Methods:
1) Encourage more students to take an active part in the class. 2) Explanations to make students consolidate grammatical rules. 3) Communicative teaching approach 4) Cooperative learning method 5) Task-based teaching approach

Through the learning of this period ,students not only can develop their skills of summary, the structures of infinitive,but also learn to use different types of infinitive freely.
Teaching important points:
1. Master and consolidate different types of infinitive. 2. Learn to use the structures of infinitive correctly and flexibly.

The usage of “to be doing” and “to have done”

Step I lead---in
T: Hello,everyone! Actually, is it hard to learn English? S: No, it is very easy,not hard or difficult.
T: Well done.So,pay attention to the phrase underline ,what structure is it? S: Infinitive.
T: Ok,today ,let’s study the grammar---infinitive.
Step II Read the following sentences and summarize the different
forms of infinitive.
1. Divide students into groups and read 6 parts of sentences and summarize the different forms of infinitive. 2. Present the different forms of infinitive.
1) to do (一般式) not to do(否定式) to be done(被动式) 2) to have done(不定式的完成式) 3) to be doing(不定式的进行式)
Let students write these forms on the blackboard.(in order to test whether students master these forms really.) step III Further study

1. According to the exercise 1, students point out some sentence patterns by themselves.
2. The teacher encourage several students speak them out. Be+adj/adv+enough+to do sth. Verb+to do verb+sb.+to do sth. It is +adj+(for sb.)+to do sth.
当一个名词被the only,序数词或形容词最高级修饰时,常用不定式作后置定语
Step IV The functions of to do 1.Act as subject
eg: 1) To teach English is my job.
2) To master English gives us much help in the study of science.
2.Act as postpositive attributive
eg: 1) Have you got anything to ask?
2) The way to do sth. 3) A chance to do sth.
3.Act as predicative
eg: My wish is to travel around the world. 4.Act as object
常见动词有:determine,agree,pretend,refuse,plan,prefer,want,hope etc. 5.Act as object complement
常见动词有:advise,warn,permit/allow,persuade,force,call on,invite,order,beg,wish etc. 6.Act as adverbs of purpose of reasons of results
固定句型有:1) in order to do sth./so as to do sth.
2) too…to do sth. 3) only to do sth.
Step V practice for consolidation
Let students finish exercises 2 and 3 on page 34 step VI summary and homework Correction on page 85 Step VII Blackboard design

to be doing 3.advise sb.to do sth not to do 4.the only +n.+to do sth.
StepVIII Teaching Reflection
Through the study of this class, most students have already mastered the basic forms and their functions of infinitive. But during the class ,some students can’t participate in the class actively. Later ,I should pay attention to helping students improve their ability to think positively and cooperate with other students.

Of course, some students who are poor in English still need think harder and practice more to consolidate the grammar. Meanwhile, a teacher should be good at developing students’ potential and stimulate their interest in English.
