Step 1 warming-up
Before starting the class, I will share a video with them, then I will ask them two questions:
Why does the English man eat up all the food? Does he think the food is really delicious?
Ask them to think them over and tell them different countries have different customs, in food, clothes, lifestyle and time…
Step 2 lead-in
1. Tell them today I invite two students from different countries, they have different attitude towards time. Let’s see where they are from and what differences they have in time.
2. Introduce the position of the two

认识今天的两位来自外国的朋友,并想了解他们对时间会有什么不同。
通过一个很有意思的中西方文化差异的视频开始本堂课,让学生们思考各国文化的不同带来的误解。引导学生说出不同国家有不同的风俗和习惯。为后面的课文做铺垫。
由各种风俗的不同引到今天来的两位朋友,他们对时间也有不同的态度并了解基本的关于瑞士和哥伦比亚的地理位置。

大致浏览课文就可以找到答案。 由于本文是由两个小短文组成的,所以细读的时候就按照每个短文设置阅读任务来对文章进行细读。 两读之后从三个方面对文章内容进行对比,学生对两个国家的文化差异印象会更加深刻。 填空的设计为了让学生们学会用关键词对文章内容进行整合,并加强他们的口语表达能力。

2. Discussion: Our friend Teresa from Colombia will visit China next week; she wants us to give her some information about China.
Discuss with your friends about China’s customs in these three ways and write them down to make a writing report.

Summarize what we have learned in this lesson and ask them to search for more cultural differences in the world.
Step 7 Homework
