教材分析
本单元是本册教材的第一单元,从学生熟悉的教师到身边的朋友,围绕对他人进行性格特征和外貌的描述展开。本课是故事教学,通过前期的学习,学生已经能够对人物进行描述,通过帮助Zoom 等小动物一起猜测来的体育老师是什么样,到最后发现新来的体育老师与想象不符,既是对知识的滚动提升,又渗透了不能以貌取人的思想,帮助学生树立正确的审美观。
设计说明
本课为故事教学,以学生本单元主句型Who’s your…teacher? What’s he/she like? Is he/she…?引出PE teacher,迅速进入话题。在复习已学单词时,设计football game,帮助学生在情境中学习足球运动中进球、失球、得分的表达。进入文本后,将文本分成两部分:1.猜测体育老师形象;2.最终发现体育老师的形象。在此过程中始终让学生带着问题阅读、观看视频,学生自己对比感知体育老师形象上的不同,最终得出结论:You can’t judge a book by its cover.最后,让学生通过教师给的支架,对故事进行复述,使语言的表达得到提升!

She is kind. We often play basketball/play football in PE lesson. 由本单元主题歌曲进行热身,通过对学生任课老师的询问,帮助学生了解本课的话题。在问答体育老师的情况后,询问体育课做些什么,引出play football.

问和观看片段让学生自己找到答案,他们在聊什么?他们猜测体育老师是什么样的?为后三幅图的学习留下悬念。
在学习的过程中适当进行表演,可以让学生更好地理解故事,培养阅读兴趣。
在阅读第4-6幅图后,回答问题:谁来了?是什么样的?Zoom认为他会踢球吗?通过自己阅读将兔子的外形特征与他在踢足球时的表现进行对比。
故事教学中表演环节是非常重要的,有助于学生对故事的理解!
