一、教材分析:
本单元主要学习了一些简单形容词比较级例如taller, shorter, younger, older, stronger, bigger, heavier, longer等。这些形容词已经基本接触过,在这里进一步的学习两个事物如何进行比较,以及形容词比较级的表示法,特别记住一些比较特殊的表示法。本单元的中心话题是询问身边的人或事物的年龄、身高、重量及长度并做比较。本课时主要是涉及自然博物馆中不同种类恐龙的比较,比较他们的身高,引出比较他们的年龄,长度。How tall is it? How old is it? How long is it.
二、学生特征分析
六年级英语在小学英语教学中起着承上启下的作用。六的学生大概处在十二三岁左右,这个阶段的儿童容易为一些新奇刺激的事物所吸引。在记忆方面,这个年龄段的孩子的有意识记逐渐占据主导地位,即使是抽象材料也能花功夫努力记住,并能自觉检查记忆的效果。他们记忆发展的另一特点是从机械识记向意义识记发展。这个阶段儿童思维发展开始从具体形象思维向抽象逻辑思维过渡,但是他们的抽象逻辑思维在很大程度上仍然是直接与感性经验相联系,仍有很大的不自觉性和具体形象性。所以语法的讲解在这个阶段会比较困难,抽象的概念很难被他们接受,教学中我注重通过词句的反复训练和感知来习得语言的综合运用能力。

知识与能力:
1、能听懂、会说单词:hall, meter/metre ,than, both
2. 能听懂、会说句子How tall is it? Maybe 4 meters. That’s the tallest dinosaur in this hall. It’s taller than both of us together .并能在情景中运用。
