Step 1: greatings
Greet the whole class as usual.
Step 2: lead- in:
Lead-in the topic by asking the students:
Do you enjoy the song played during the break-time?
Step 3: learning aims
Show the learning aims on the screen.
Step 4 check the homework
Group competition to check their homework to arouse their interest.
Step 5: Skimming
Let the students read the passage quickly Choose the best title.
A. Three Great Austrian Composers
B. Three Great Composers of the Eighteenth Century
C. Three Great Child Composers
This question the students are required to response quickly. The first one to stand up will be given the chance to answer the question.
Step 6: Scanning
Task 1: Answer the questions.

  1. How did Haydn change the form of symphonies?
2. How long did he work in eastern Austria?
3. How many pieces of music did Mozart compose?
4. How old was he when he played for the Empress of Austria?
5. Who taught Beethoven how to play the piano?
6. Did he stop composing when he became deaf?
Though it is a required question, choose the students randomly to get everybody involved in the task.

第二步:谋篇布局
全文分三个部分来写。第一部分,介绍Albert Einstein的基本信息;第二部分介绍Albert Einstein的主要事迹和成就;第三部分,对Albert Einstein作出评价
第三步:难句突破
1.然后开始了他的研究,由此产生了著名的“相对论”(Then he began his research,which led to his famous Theory of Relativity)。
