2. Teaching procedures
Step1: Lead in
1. Showing photos of 2017 Marathon in Fenghua.
2. Showing the medal of Marathon and introduce the culture it reflects. 3. Showing the Gold Medal of 28th Olympic Games in 2004.
4. Q: Do you know where is the flame of Olympic Games lit and why?
(Olympia in Greece. It is in the place that the ancient Olympic Games start. )
Step2: Skimming
1. Now, there is a writer from ancient Greek. He is making an interview with a volunteer.
Read para1 and find out the purpose of making the interview. (to find out about the present-day Olympic Games)
2. Read the whole interview quickly and try to get the main idea of it.
The text mainly introduces the Olympic Games , especially the similarities and differences between the ancient Olympic Games and the modern Olympic Games.

An ancient Greek writer is interviewing a volunteer for information of present-day Olympic Games. Modern Olympic Games are held every 4 years with Winter and Summer Games. And a village is built for the competitors to live in. Modern athletes from any countries can be allowed in to compete for medals instead of olive wreath. Also it is a honor to host the Olympic.
