Teaching Content The content of my lesson is a reading material, through the learning of which, I’ll enable students to know more about the comparison of
ancient Olympic Games & Modern Olympic Games. At the same time, make Ss aware of the question-and-answer format in an interview and learn how to get a conclustion from the answer. Teaching Aims
Knowledge
(1)The Ss can learn question-and-answer format in an interview. (2) The Ss can understand the content of the lesson, talk about the Olympic Games and form their own opinion about this sports event.

Step 1 Lead in (3 min) Greeting. T: Good morning, boys and girls!Welcome to our lesson today! We will share sth about the biggest world sports evet, so, guess, what is it? Ss: The Olympic Games
T: Let’s start our lesson today with a piece of energetic music!(while speaking ,i will play the theme song for Los Angeles Olympic Games in 1984, named Reach Out) Ss: Great
T: How do you feel on hearing this song?(I will pick up three students to answer this question)
T: I will show you a general understanding of the
Olympic Games( I will pick up one student to read the two sentences.
T: Ok, today, I will introduce the biggest sports festival to all of you. Arouse students' interest and lead in the topic for this lesson. Step 2.
Pre-reading (6 min)
Task1. A small quiz (individual work,3 min) T: let’s check the following pics about the Olympic Games and see how much we know about the biggest sports festival . Ss:Ok.
1. Get Ss to know basic knowledge about the Olympic Games 2. Serve as a warm-up for the following tasks.

Step 3 While-reading (23 min) Task 1. Skimming (individual work, 3 min) T: As the worldwide sports event, we have known something interesting about it, so let’s do a competition about it at first. Ss: We like competition! T: ok.I will divide our whole class into 4 groups.And every member who answers one question correctly will get one star for his/her group. (Ss feel excited about the competition and participate in it actively and finally Group 3 get the winner.) Congratulations! After the skimming, we will ask Ss to find the main idea of this article. Ss: In my opinion, the main idea of this reading passage is about the comparion of two types of Olympic Games. T: Exactly! The comparison between the ancient Olympics Games and modern Olympic Games
Task2. Scanning (group work,5 min)
T: Analyze the detail of the differences and similarities
of the Olympics Games.
T: How many types of Olympic Games does the Ancient include and how about the Modern?
How about the competitiors for the two types of
Olympics Games?
Where is the hosting place for the Olympics Games seperately?
How about the prize for the winners?
Pls fill in the blanks for the chart to complete the differences.
T: After the detailed reading, we could find some similarities of the two types of Olympic Games.

news is announced, every Chinese looks nervous and
after the announcing, everybody is so excited and feel
honored about this big event with deep significance.
Conclusion:
T:As a Chinese, we feel so proud of being the host country for 2008 Olympic Games. It is a super
opportunity for our Chins to prove to the whole world: we have grown to be a super country and we have ability to host the biggest world sports event.
As teenagers of new generation, we will try our best to serve as the new leader of our country. 1. Consolidate the contents for this lesson. 2. Practice Ss' ability
of putting together and analyzing useful information.
Homework
a) Read the text three times, and try to retell it. b) Do exercise 1 & 2 on P11,comprehending.
Check whether the Ss achieve the teaching aims.
Teaching Reflection
I spent a long time surfing the Internet for as much and complete information as I can in order to enrich my class.My textbook is underlined and marked here and there,which will make full preparation for my class.Anyway, I have to learn to balance and budge the time,and grasp what is most important. In order to perform better, communicating with others and sharing the experience is very important.
Check whether this class can be fully understood by Ss and get more practical experience from it.
