Step1  Lead-in
At the beginning of the class show students a video about Top 10 lost civilizations. Ask them something they’ve known about lost civilizations.
              This step serves as warming-up and helps students prepare for the next steps.
Step2  Learning and practice
Help students learn the new language items by adopting different forms of practice such as blank filling, sentence conversion, translation, sentence combination and sentence-completion.
       This step aims to help students get familiar with the important items by practicing.
Step3  Consolidation
              Ask students to fill in the blanks of a passage by using the language items they’ve learned.
              This step provides students with the chances of practicing the language items about lost civilizations, so it’s a bit challenging for them.
Step4  Presentation
Ask students to write a passage by using the language items they’ve learned.
       This step provides students with the chances of practicing the language items in the discourse level, so it’s a bit challenging for them.
Step5  Conclusion
Draw a conclusion and spark the highlight.
       This step corresponds with the first step of this class, emphasizes the theme of this passage and aims to help students have a better and deeper understanding of civilizations.
Step6  Homework
Asking students to review the language items and write a passage by using as many language items as possible.
              This step is an extension of the class. On the one hand, students can learn how to consolidate the items they’ve learned. On the other hand, they can practice writing, which is usually not done in class because of the time limit.
