Teaching processes:
◆Step 1 Warm-up: Roll numbers ◆Step 2 Lead-in:
Guessing: “Who am i?” T pretend to be a waitress and make a conversation with a student. Let
other students guess who I am?
After students say out the answer, T point to the picture in PPT and ask:‘Why am
I crying?’ T: Because my boss asked me to by too many food materials.
◆Step 3 Presentation and Practice: Daily work of a waitress: 1.Go to the supermarket I need to buy:
(1)beef , fish, mutton, chicken
(students look at ppt and make a quick reaction to say out the sentence: I need to buy some beef/fish/mutton/chicken)
(2)Carrots, cabbages, potatoes, onions ,tomatoes
(students look at ppt in which the food is half covered and make a quickly guess what is the food, and say out the sentence: I need to buy some cabbages\potatoes\onions\ tomatoes) (3) T:So many kinds of food, What kind of food/meat/vegetables/drink would you like? Ss: I’d like some ....
Do pairwork to practice the conversation. Then divide the food into different groups. 2. Go to the restaurant and take orders:
(1) PPT show a waitress and some customers, Ss should guess what they are talking about and make conversations with their partners. Then they should show their conversations to all the Ss.
(2) T present a conversation , Ss read it and then act it out in pairs. 3. Relax:
Show Jokes for Ss to read and to fill in the blanks. Add more jokes for them to read 4. Go home
Add emotional education: If she is a mother, she has to take care of her children and do
housework. So she will be tired. Think about your parents, how about their daily work? So if your parents come home from work, we should bring him/her a cup of tea, and say thank you to him/her. And we should help them with housework home. Beside they will be happy if you study hard at school, that’s also a way to express thanks. ◆Step 4 Homework
