教学目标
1.学生能熟练地用所学语言复述Story time内容。
2.学生能在情景中理解并正确运用first, next, then, finally来描述事情或讲故事。
3.学生能自主阅读cartoon time内容, 理解并能朗读、表演故事。
4.学生能了解一些其它重要的西方节日,如Thanksgiving Day。
2学情分析
 本课时是单元教学的第二课时,教学对象是五年级学生。学生已学习了该单元storytime板块,对副词first, next, then 和finally 的意义已经有了初步的感知,本课时主要深入学习这四个副词的用法,并结合cartoon 的学习,进一步让学生进行运用。
3重点难点
1.学生能在情景中感知、理解语法知识并能初步地运用。
2.学生能自主阅读cartoon time,读懂内容,体会乐趣,提高自主阅读能力。

活动1【导入】step1 Warm-up

唱圣诞歌曲,创造浓浓的圣诞氛围,让学生身临其境,同时引入主题学习。

设计Tim也来说圣诞这一环节,因为Tim是一个四岁的孩子,叙述事情条理性不够,让学生来给他建议。这里旨在让学生自省,自悟出这四个词的用法,而不是教师硬塞给他们四个单词。既增添了趣味性,又真正提供了让学生自悟的平台
由说到写,关注学生是否能真正运用,同时检查学生拼写的能力。

   让学生看图片后说一说,培养学生从图片获取信息的能力。
Cartoon time让学生先自主阅读、自由表达从故事中读到的内容,通过自读自悟,感受体会Cartoon time的幽默有趣之处,培养自主阅读能力。
对“吃火鸡”这一文化进行聚焦,激发学生兴趣。
要求学生绘声绘色地朗读,读出语言的美感,读出故事的趣味。
学生分层次表演。鼓励学生创造性地表演,给故事加结尾,培养学生的创新思维,给学生语言表达的平台。
活动5【活动】Step5 expanding

Every year, the president of the US set free a turkey on Thanksgiving Day.

T introduces Thanksgiving Day.
 
3. T: Thanksgiving Day is coming, the lucky turkey is so happy, he doesn’t know what to do. Can you arrange for the lucky turkey?

从poor Mr Turkey 过渡到一只lucky Turkey,让学生带着浓郁的兴趣来了解Thanksgiving Day这个西方节日,这也是本单元的story time板块中的Learning tip要落实的目标。
通过这一环节的学习,学生了解了更多西方节日,并能再次使用first,next,then,finally一系列表示先后顺序的词进行简单输出。
 
让学生给the lucky turkey安排感恩节活动,活动内容学生从所给的相关资料中自由提取,活动顺序学生自由表达,既了解感恩节这一西方节日,又再次练习使用本单元核心语言项目。

总结过渡Mike也想了解中国的传统节日,学生就传统节日春节向Mike作简单介绍,这是作业之一。然后用这几个词来布置家作,始终将这几个词贯穿于课堂学习的各个环节,使作业布置也能吸引学生。
 
展示通过学生努力而装饰出来的漂亮的圣诞树,帮助学生树立学习英语的自信心,让学生体验成就感。
