2教学目标
1.Enable students to learn what body language is and the information it can convey.
2.To introduce the difference of body language in different countries.
3.To train the students’ reading and understanding, discussing ability.
3学情分析
本节课的教学班级是我校高二年级的一个重点班,人数60人。该班学生英语基础较为扎实,能够熟练运用本单元的重点词汇,并且具备一定的口语表达能力,但是他们对于“身体语言与交流”之间的内在关系并不是非常了解。
4重点难点
Understanding the different ways of body language in different countries.
How to talk about body language.
5教学过程
5.1I. Warming up 1.Lead students to watch a video of “Mr Bean”. 2.Lead them to think about how he could make others laugh without saying anything. 3.Display some pictures of gestures, body movements and facial expressions. Let students guess the meaning of them. 4.Give out some different meanings of the same gestures.
5.1.1教学活动
活动1【导入】Pre-reading
Ask students to look at the picture on the page, and guess where the story will happen.
活动2【讲授】Fast reading
1. Ask students to find out the names and countries of the international students.
2. Ask students to divide the passage into four parts, and find out the main ideas of them.
活动3【讲授】Skimming
1.Ask students to find out key words to fill in the blanks about the two mistakes.
2. Ask students to have role-plays of the mistakes.
活动4【讲授】Listening
Listen to the audio of the passage , and answer three questions.
活动5【讲授】Careful reading
Ask students to read the passage loudly, and judge the following sayings are true or false.
活动6【活动】Discussion
Let students watch a video "Body language shapes who you are". Then ask students to discuss about the topic"How can you change your body language to improve yourself".
活动7【练习】Activities
Ask students to work in groups of two. One holds the paper with information on it, the other uses body language to express it. Other students guess his or her meaning.
