Enable students to learn some words and expressions about festivals and enable students to know how to introduce a festival. Ability Aims:
Improve the students’ oral English. By the end of the class, the students will be better able to talk about their favorite festivals. Emotional Aims:
1. Encourage students to respect each festival.
2.Stimulate students to realize the importance of Chinese culture and inspire them to love Chinese Culture.

教学过程 Teaching Procedures
Step I Warming up
Have a greeting to students with some simple words and sing a chant my favorite festival in order to arouse student’s interests and introduce the topic: festival. Step II Lead-in
Activity Listen and Guess
Teacher shows six songs about different Chinese festivals. After that students guess the songs one by one.
Step III Presentation
Activity Match and Circle step1 Match
Teacher shows some pictures of gesture, facial expression, posture on the screen. Then teacher asked the students to read the paper which was given to them. Students should match the name to each paragraph and circle the key words.

According to that, students can conclude how to introduce a festival.
Step IV Practice
Activity Speak and Introduce (group work)
Teacher uses pictures to shows some festivals and asks students to work in groups to introduce them. Let students imagine they are reporters of Chengkou TV and work in groups to introduce those festivals to the whole class.
Step V Production
Activity Make a poster (group work)
Let students work in groups, create a new festival—students’ day and make a poster to show different ideas with the whole class.
Step VI Summary
Teacher makes a conclusion, encourages students to respect
