How to Introduce A Place
ⅠTeaching aims:
1.Ss will be able to improve their writing skill by learning how to introduce a place. 2.Ss will be able to learn some important words as well as useful sentence patterns. 3.Ss will be able to master the five steps for writing a composition. 4.Ss will be able to be aware of the beauty of our hometown.
ⅡTeaching key point and difficult point: 1.To help Ss learn to introduce a place.
2.To improve Ss’ writing skills by using the five steps.
Ⅲ The analysis of students:
The learners are in senior 1. At the aspect of cultural background,most of them know some information about the capital of our country-- Beijing. So it's good to begin with Beijing. At the aspect of language ability, lack of enough vocabulary is the vital weakness in their English writing. Besides, it is difficult for them to understand the long,complex sentences.
Ⅳ Teaching procedures: Step 1 Lead-in
1. Show some pictures and introduce the city--Beijing to students.
2. Show the passage about Beijing to Ss and then ask them to find out which aspects can be mentioned when we introduce a place. Step 2 Guidance for writing
1.Make sure the type of the passage,tense, detailed information and how to develop the passage. 2.Useful sentence structures *About location:
①Located in..., ...is considered as the centre of... ②It faces...across the sea.
③...is situated in the north of...Province.
④..., which is the capital of..., lies in/on/to the east of... ⑤...is a coastal city/located between...and... *About population and size:
①It is a city with a population of...

五步写作规范：
第一步:审题构思很关键
一、审题
1.确定体裁:本文是介绍地点的文章，为说明文； 2.确定人称:本文的主要人称为第一人称； 3.确定时态:以一般现在时为主。 二、构思
第一段:写信动机。在开头说明写信要向对方介绍一下海南。
第二、三段:说明具体情况。详细介绍海南的历史、地理、人口等情况。 第四段:结尾。向对方表达祝愿。
第二步:核心词汇想周全
