Senior One student, because it’s longer and has more new words and long and difficult sentences than the required textbooks. Therefore, students need to spend more time to prepare lessons
before class.

Students in Class 21 have good English knowledge and basic abilities of its application, which makes them able to understand
the passage to finish some difficult reading task and have a
heated discussion and then report their discussion result fluently and clearly.

① T explains a case to make it clear for S-s what is a correct perspective and introduce the topic what should we do with setbacks and failures.
② T plays a video to tell S-s why we shouldn’t give up and abandon ourselves when we suffer setbacks and failures and make S-s have an idea of what we should do with failures.
2. Fast reading
T asks S-s to read the passage aloud to find out what is the “disaster” for Liu Xiaoming, divide the passage into four parts, and match the part to the main idea. Part 1 ( Para ): An article talked about the learning experience of a student. Part 2 ( Para ): My self-reflection after reading.
Part 3 ( Para ): An article researched the happiness and lifestyle.
Part 4 ( Para ): I failed the exam and my parents did their best to help me.
3. Careful reading
① T asks S-s to read Part 1 in silence and finish the two tasks.

① T asks S-s to draw a conclusion.
We can learn something from Liu Xiaoming's failure and his change of attitude. When we encounter problems in life:

However, there will always be more solutions than problems. Here are three situations. You can choose whichever you like to think about it with a correct perspective and work out some solutions to the problem.
