教学目标

2学情分析
After the first period, students have learnt something about colours, got the names of the colours in a rainbow and They have also learnt to talk about their favourite colours. As Grade 9 students, they have mastered certain reading skills and strategies, such as skimming and scanning. So they have little difficulty reading and understanding this article.
3重点难点
1. New words: influence, create, prefer, require, remind, relaxed;
2. New structures: This article explains what colours can do and what characteristics they represent.
Some people prefer this colour when they hope for success.

Review what we have learned about colours: the seven colours of a rainbow; one’s favourite colour.
活动2【活动】Lead in
Present three pictures and have a brief talk: how do you feel when you see the colours?
Lead in the topic: Colours and moods.
Let students get to understand the goals they have to achieve after reading.

1. Skimming
(1) Skim the whole passage and find out four kinds of colours. How many colours are mentioned in the article? What are they?
(2) Skim the whole passage and find out the main idea of the passage

2. Scanning
(1) Scan the passage and answer the question.
