Section A
Teaching aims and demands:
1. (1) Learn some words about jobs and career: teacher, doctor, nurse, office worker, driver, farmer, cook, actor (2) Learn some other useful words and expressions: kid, seat, glad, parent, father, mother , both, office
(3) Encourage the students to work hard for their future career. 2.(1)Talk about jobs and career: ① What do your parents do? They are both office workers. ② What does your mother do? She is a teacher.
(2) Talk about introduction: ① Maria, this is my mom. ② Glad to meet you.
Teaching important points:
1. Let the students master the new words and structures.
2. Enable the students to identify when to use “does” and when to use “do”. Teaching difficult points:
1. How to enlighten the students to use “do/does” correctly.
2. How to encourage the students to apply the new words and structures in their daily lives.
Teaching steps:
step1.【Warming up 】
The class begins with a clothing fashion show, Several students wear different
occupation clothes ,which attract students’ interest greatly.lead them to the new lesson which is about jobs and careers
step2. 【Presentation】 (1). Present the new words
①Use a guessing gameto learn the new words about jobs: teacher, doctor, nurse, office worker, driver, farmer, cook,actor
The teacher prepares some photos of various kinds of jobs. ask a group of students to perform the jobs on the photo. The other students guess what the job is. Perform the jobs one by one . Learn the new words one by one. show the photos and new words on the screen.
②Rules of the new words: some nouns and verbs add er/or can become jobs. teach --teacher, work-- worker, drive --driver farm--farmer, act --actor
(2) Present the new structures about jobs
①Show a song to present the structures how to ask the jobs. the words of the song is
what does he do? He is a taxi driver. What does he do? He is a story writer What do they do? They are doctors. What do they do? They are teachers.
②This song rhythm is strong, popular. We can use the new professional words to change the words of this song, In order to practice the words and the sentence pattern in an attractive way,like this:
What does he do? He is a cook. What does she do? She is a nurse.
What do they do? They are office workers .......
( Each group can have a PK in singing this song.choose the best one and give a reward )
step3.【Practice】 (1).practice the words
Use the game “The game of whack-a-mole” to practice the new words. There is a Chinese meaning of the new word on the head of every rat .when it appears, the students should say the English as fast as possible. (2).Have a PK game to practice
“What does he/she do? He/She is ...”,
What do you/they do? We/They are ...” between boys and girls. according to 1C,the boys group and the girls group should ask and answer one by one,The group which takes a shorter time is the winner. All the members in the group will get a reward
step4. 【text leaning】
1.We have learned so many words about Jobs, but we don’t know what Kangkang’s father and mother do. So the students need to listen to Kangkang and his friends’ talk , then finish 1b.
2.Role play: invite 2 or 3 groups of students to act the conversation out.
Step5. 【consolidation】,
1.Make a similar dialog according to 1a then show the dialog out in groups 2.Lead the student to 2,listen to the conversation and complete the passage
Step6. 【project】
(1)Work in groups,choose a reporter to interview his/her classmate in the group. Survey their parents’ jobs and complete the following table.
Reporter: Hello, I’m „ I’m a reporter. Nice to meet you. What’s your name?
What class are you in? What do you do?
What does your mother do? What does your father do?

(2) Each group will stick their survey on the blackboard,choose two groups to give reports like this:

Step7 【summarize】
1. The students summarize the new words and structures they have learnt today. 2. Each group makes out some questions on the small blackboards . Do the questions and check answers together
Step8【Homework】 1. Recite the text.
2. Write a passage about the jobs of your family or your friends’ family.
