本课是外研社小学英语(三年级起点)五年级下册第十模块第二单元。本节课主要内容是学会谈论旅行经历。在本教材第六模块已经接触了这个语言功能,为本课打下很好基础。根据新课标倡导小学英语课堂语言实践活动就是通过创设与营造真实有意义的情境或语言环境,为学生提供充分的语言实践机会。本课充分利用课本中第十模块第一单元Daming准备去纽约旅行,现在Daming已经到纽约,并把自己在纽约所见所闻写一封信给爸爸妈妈的情境,学习新知,使学生真实体会语言的意义。同时联系生活,结合学生的真实经历,通过创设分享学生的旅行经历的情境激发学生的兴趣,训练学生口语的表达,并学会分享快乐,并渗透在旅行中能文明旅游。 【教学目标】
(一)语言知识和技能目标:
1.全体学生会听、说、读、写单词:building, American, find out, more.
2.全体学生能听说、认读句型:
(1)Grandma and Cousin Simon met me at the airport. (2)We took a yellow taxi to their home. (3)Grandma made Chinese food for me.
3. 全体学生会运用此类的功能句型谈论旅行经历。 (二)学习策略目标:
1.学生通过带着问题听文本,能获取有效信息,捕捉文本细节,在阅读中掌握一些阅读技巧。
2.能积极与他人合作,共同完成学习任务,能运用所学知识表达和交流。
(三)情感态度和文化意识目标:
1.乐于参与学习和感知英语,并积极尝试使用英语,从会用英语做事情中体验到学英语的快乐,并学会分享快乐。
2.学生学习本课后对纽约和美国食物有进一步了解,学生在谈论旅行经历、见闻的同时,能感受到文明旅游的重要性。
【教学重难点】
教学重点:能听说、认读本课的新词汇及句型,谈论旅行经历。 教学难点: 学生能运用过去式流利地谈论旅行见闻、经历,并写下来。

【教学流程】
Teaching Steps:
Step 1 Warming up(5mins) 1. Greetings.
2. Sing a song《It’s a big exciting world.》
T:First let’s sing a song, please clap your hands and sing together. 【设计意图】通过歌曲,激发学生对英语学习的兴趣,同时让学生尽快进入英语学习氛围。歌曲内容与本节课新知有关联,为新知学习做好铺垫。通过简单的问候拉近与学生的距离。 3. Free talk.
T:What’s the song about? S:Travelling.
出示歌曲中出现的三幅图:When we travelling, the song tells us there’s….
S: cake , food, nice food…… T:There’s new food to eat.
S: make friends, new people, travel by plane……
T:There’s new people to meet. We can travel by plane. So it’s a big exciting world. There are many interesting places in the world.(出示世界各地风光)Have you ever been to any interesting places? I went to Disneyland two years ago. What about you? S:I went to……
【设计意图】通过歌曲中有关旅游的相关句型,与学生自由谈论,很自然引出并询问学生曾经去过什么地方,激发学生的兴趣,学生有话可说,也为本课教学做铺垫。
4. Task: Talk about our travel experience.
T:We all had a good time. Today we’ll talk about our travel experience. After learning, let’s write a letter to our friend to share it.
【设计意图】出示本节课的任务,体现了新课标中的任务型教学,为新课的学习做好铺垫。
Step 2 Presentation (22mins) 1.Pre-reading
(1)T:In last lesson we know Daming’s going to New York. Look, this is New York. Where’s New York? Do you know anything about New York?
Ss: It’s big, beautiful, famous, it’s got the Statue of Liberty…. (2)Let’s watch a video about New York. 出示介绍纽约的视频。 【设计意图】通过学生在阅读文本前自由谈论以及观看纽约视频,使学生对纽约有进一步了解,激发了学生的求知欲,为新课打下很好的基础。
(3)T:Daming’s in New York. What do you know about his trip? Do
you have any questions? S1: Who met him? S2:How did he go home? S3:When did he arrive?
【设计意图】通过讨论、预测策略,培养学生的发散思维能力,为文本阅读奠定基础。
2.While-reading
(1) Listen and choose. (在对答案时教单词:building)
When did Daming arrive?( ) A. Today B. Yesterday Who met Daming at the airport?( ) A.Grandma and Simon B. Lingling
How did Daming go home?( ) A. By bus. B. By taxi. 【设计意图】通过带着问题听文本的方式,培养学生捕捉文本细节的能力。
(2) Read and underline. (自读课文,划出关键句并填入表格)
T:What did he see in New York? What food did grandma make? What food did he want to try? Read by yourselves, underline the key sentences, and then fill in it.
(在填表格时,教授单词:American,并渗透中国食物和美国食物的不同。)

【设计意图】通过听音模仿,全班齐读,利用黑板关键词复述课文的方式,进一步巩固所学知识,也培养了学生的思维能力。

T:New York is beautiful. Daming is very exciting. Can you imagine what else Daming did ? Work in pairs.
S:They went to the library, they went shopping…… (2) Read and number.
New York is a big city. It’s in the east of America. In New York, Daming also went to visit the Chinatown (唐人街)with Simon. They went there by bus. They took some photos there. Then they bought some hamburgers and cola for lunch. They ate them in the park. They had a very happy day.

T:Boys and girls, travelling is a wonderful thing. But there are some unpleasant things during travelling. Here’s a video for you.(学生边看视频,师边解说No littering,No spitting .Stand in line. Don’t talk loudly. Please protect our environment.)
