Book6 Module3 Listening and Vocabulary
Teaching Plan
• Topic Book6 Module3 Listening----Friendship •Students Class 3, Senior 2 •Teacher Zeng Henglan •Learning duration 40 minutes •Date May 7, 2019 •Learning Materials
The learning materials of this lesson come from the topic “Interpersonal Relationships----Friendship”, which is from Module3, Book6. In the Listening material, a twenty-year-old Liao Mei tells us her friendship between her and her friend Wang Chaosu. They were the schoolmates, and then they became best friends to each other. As friends, they shared the same hobbies, happiness with each other. However, they also quarreled. Now, they are still friends, but not the best friends, because of the changes happening on each other. This is a very simple story, and I want to teach students to learn something useful and help them have a right value on friendship. •About Students
As senior2 students, they have shaped their own values on friendship. They all have friends, good friends and even best friends. In their memories, they can remember the stories happened on their friends and them. But do they really have a right value on friendship? Did they really think of what friendship means to them? Do they know how to do when conflicts happen between friends and them? Maybe not. So, in this class, I want to talk about these questions with students based on the listening materials. Another important thing is that, senior 2 students have already owned the ability of grasping the main idea from a listening material, but for some detailed information, they will have some difficulty listing the exact words or sentences. It is necessary to develop their ability of intensive listening.
•Design Philosophy
The crucial importance of the ability to think critically is well known for everyone teaching English, and we surely mention it in students’ speaking, listening and reading. In this lesson, we will focus on the word “Friendship”, and motivate students to think about this familiar word. In this way, as one of the most important core competency, the students’ thinking skill could be trained and improved.
