I.Analysis of the topic | ||||
In this module, we talk about“sports life”which can arouse students’ interest easily.And Liu Xiang’s story is very educational, students can be taught in many aspects, they can learn the language skills as well as the great spirit. And the passive voice is frequently used in the passage,students are supposed to use it in their writing. |

II、Analysis of the students | ||||
After two years’ learning, students can get the basic tasks in reading and writing lessons and they tend to finish the learning tasks easily instead of having a deep understanding of the passage. It’s quite necessary for them to focus on the deep thinking and feel free to express their ideas. | ||||

1. Fast-reading Ask students to think of their ideas to write a passage with this title.(If you were the writer,what will you write?) Ask them to do fast-reading,check whether their ideas are mentioned in the passage. Ask students to check the main idea of the passage. 2. Careful- reading Ask students to read Paragraph 1 to have a general idea about Liu Xiang. Ask students to tell his story in their own words with the information in Paragraph 1.(Para.1) Ask students to do a detail reading and find time and facts about Liu Xiang. Ask students to complete the table with the information in groups. Check the answers and ask students to retell Liu Xiang’s experiences. 3.Pair work ( be a critical reader ) Ask students to work in groups to find the writer’s comment about Liu Xiang and find the facts which show Liu Xiang’s courage and success and mark them. ask: Will you learn sports when you were very young?Why? If you were him,will you continue? Did he get all his success by himself?Who should give thanks to? |

Ask students to tell Zhang Yining’s story with the given information and share their work. |
