教学过程:
Step 1 Revision
以一张客厅照片为背景,复习第一课时学习过的短语和句型:
A: Could you please ……?
take out the trash
do chores                    
do the dishes           
sweep the floor                         
fold the clothes            
clean the living room
B: OK /Sure/of course. OR Sorry , I can’t. / Sorry, I’m afraid not. Because I have too much homework/I’m so busy.

Step 2 Lead-in
Present the picture in 3a.
Ask Ss the three questions.
       1. Is the kitchen clean and tidy?
2. What will you do if your kitchen is like this?
3. Who do you think should do these chores?
Step 3 Reading
Scanning
1.Read the story and answer the questions.
Why was Nancy’s mom angry with her?
Did they solve the problem? How?
Discussion: If you were Nancy, what would you do?
(在讨论中,去体会分享家务劳动的必要性)
渗透阅读策略:在文中寻找支撑句(supporting sentences)和关键词(key words)
2.Read quickly and find the time order.
(通过三个时间点划定三个不同的场景Scene)
3.Match the scene with the right picture.
(总结每一场景的段落大意)
4.Choose the best title.
(策略:选择标题时切勿片面,要有立意)
Intensive reading
1.Scene One
通过actions带出Scene One里的重点动词,通过动词描述dog, Nancy, mom 的不同动作,引起母女矛盾的开端。
通过conversations带出重要句式“Could you….?”和“Could I….?”以及重点短语“as…as…”
2.Scene Two
通过mom和Nancy的系列动作将母女矛盾推向了高潮。
3.Scene Three
通过mom和Nancy的不同情绪(surprised, sorry)展示母女矛盾的解决。
Step 4 Retell the story
Teacher set an example, then Ss retell the story according the mind map.
Step 5 Finish 3b and some exercise.
Step 6 Summary
Step 7 Homework
