UNIT10 I’ve had this bike for three years. Section B2a-2d
Teaching aims(教学目标)
1.掌握基本的阅读技能
2. 了解中国的一个典型特色,进城务工人群的生活,对家乡的感觉。
Language points(语言点)
要求掌握以下句式:   find much time to do sth     It’s a shame that …
      According to ....     regard …with …           It’s such a …
                      
2.要求掌握以下词汇:
(1)动词:search, regard, count  (2)名词:crayon, shame, century, childhood
(3)形容词:opposite    (4) 副词: nowadays, especially
(本节课的生词较少,而且单词的拼写比较简单,所以学生学起来不会感到困难,如果班级学生的水平较高,可以鼓励学生当堂掌握。)
Difficulties(难点):用英语描述家乡的变化,及对家乡变化的情感。
Teaching steps(教学步骤)
1. Warm-up(课堂热身)
Warming up: 1.Show two pictures (one is about a city, the other is about a countryside) and ask: Where do you want to live? Why? Where do you want to work? Why?
2.why people go to the big city?
 
教学设计说明:为后面的阅读教学作铺垫。很多农民工离开家乡进城务工。
 
2. Presentation(呈现新知识)
reading skill: using previous knowledge
What is previous knowledge?
T: Answer the questions before you read.

  1. Why do millions of Chinese leave the countryside every year?
  2. How often do you think these people visit their hometowns?
  3. What new buildings does the government usually build in towns and villages?
教学设计说明:
用已有的知识猜测即将要学习的内容,训练读前预测的能力。
3. Work on 2a
T: Skim the article and confirm if your answers are the same as the passage.
(教师可以四处走动,以帮助学生怎样理解文章的大意。并对个别难懂对他们阅读有障碍的地方进行注解。)
 
教学设计说明:
首先从整体上把握文章的大意,对读前预测的一个检验。
4. Work on 2b
T: Read the article again and find expressions in the passage that have the same meanings as these words and phrases.
For weaker Ss, make sure they understand the given words/phrases before asking them to complete the exercise.
Alternatively, have Ss volunteer to explain the given words/phrases in English or (L1) their own language and find the correct expressions in the passage. 
(教师对每个短语进行分析,引导学生联系上下文理解单词短语在文章中的含义)

指导学生注意理解细节,同时联系上下文,在语境中理解单词短语的意义。
 
5. Work on 2c
T: Complete the summary with words from the passage. You may need to change the forms of the words.
Have Ss aware of using the correct forms of the words to complete the summary of the passage..

指导学生对一篇文章的缩写,概括文章的大意。
 
6. Post-reading (Work on 2d)
T: Look at these two pairs of pictures. Can you point out the differences?
 Show two pairs of pictures (compare now with the past)
Have Ss describe what they see in the pictures. Focus on the changes Ss can see in the “now” pictures from the “before” pictures.
T: Think of changes that are happening in your town or city today. Which changes are generally good? Which changes could be seen as bad? Then write a report.
Show Ss the sample report and explain the structure and the use of tone in the report. Give adequate guidelines to Ss.
Have Ss do this activity in pairs if they are not confident enough.
For stronger Ss, have them write the report on their own.
 
(让学生对自己家乡的过去和现在进行一个对比,并描述那些变化是好的,那些变化带来了不好的影响)

让学生讨论自己家乡的变化,运用所学知识对家乡的变化进行描述,并从情感上引导学生正确看待家乡的变化,哪些是好的变化,哪些变化带来了不好的影响。
7. Homework
1. Read the article in 2a aloud.
2. Try to describe the changes in your hometown.
