2.While reading 1)Scanning T: Read and find more information about Thanksgiving (以图表的形式,清晰地帮助学生抓住what, which, when, why, how的角度去理解文章内容,渗透阅读策略) T: Work on 2c. Read the article again and write down the answers to each question. Where do people celebrate Thanksgiving? When do people celebrate it? Why do people celebrate it? How do people celebrate it now? What is the main dish of the Thanksgiving meal? (方法指导:首先,应读懂五个问题的意思;然后,带着这五个问题再次认真阅读短文的内容,特别是认真阅读短文中与某问题相关的部分,以便根据上下文意及整个段落的意思来确定如何回答这个问题。 综合上下文的意思,确定最贴切的答案。) 
2)Watch an English video about the turkey dinner .Show the new words on the big screen and teach Ss the new words in the passage. 
3) Read and match T: Work on 2b. Read the article and number the pictures [1-5]. Here is one way to make turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. First, mix together some bread pieces, onions, salt and pepper. Next, fill the turkey with this bread mix. Then, put the turkey in a hot oven and cook it for a few hours. When it is ready, place the turkey on a large plate and cover it with gravy. Finally, cut the turkey into thin pieces and eat the meat with vegetables like carrots and potatoes. 1)Talk about some special days in China . Ask the questions in 2e. 2)Recite the passage Thanksgiving in the United States. 
3)Write a passage about one of the Chinese special days. (根据学生程度进行口语和书面作业的布置,同时结合了课堂内容,并拓展深化了主题并为下堂课的内容做了铺垫。)
