Step 1: Warm up and lead in by guessing
T: Class, I’d like to start our class with a guessing game.

T: Letter”I” and letter”f” can be a word”if”. Do you know the meaning of “if”?
Can you use “if” to make a sentence? Now we are having a class. If I am free, I will go shopping. If you are free, what will you do? Ss:… (Ask about 6students)

T: You have made so many wonderful sentences. So I’d like to invite some of you to join my party. Class, next Friday is my daughter Coco’s birthday. I’d like to have a birthday party for her. I wll have the party on Saturday evening. 1). Would you like to come to my party?
S1: Sure, I’d like to. T: If you go to the party, you will have a good time.
S2: Sorry, I have to do my homework. T: If you don’t go to the party, you will be sorry. 2). What will you wear?
S1: I will wear jeans. T: If you wear jeans, I won’t let you in. Do you know”let you in”? let sb. in means let sb. go in someplace. S2: I will wear a dress. T: If you wear a dress, you will look nice. 3). How will you go?
S1:I will take a bus. T: If you take a bus, you will be late.

Step 3: 1a Match the statements with the pictures.
T: Some students are going to a party, too. Let’s look at the picutres and statements in 1a. First, let’s read the statements together. Now please match the statements with the pictures. Check the answers.
